Whenever I see a number I don't know coming from a place I've never been or don’t know anyone, I pick up the phone but then just leave it on the table and let the other person ramble on. Maybe I should get out more, but it’s whatever really.

I tried ringing the number again to find out who was behind it, but ended up with a robotic voicemail instructing me to reach out for removal from their directory. Surely, there should be a way to report and penalise the owner of this number? Since it’s a landline, I'm sure BT could trace it without much trouble. What a real nuisance!

I always ignore calls from unknown numbers that aren't saved in my contacts, and I never open strange emails either. Most of these are just pointless calls that can end up being really expensive. Those scammers are just awful!

I only have one mate from Portsmouth, so I'll just block it since it seems like a scam. Cheers to Over. More than a million folks have already looked it up, and yeah, it does come up as a scam.

I usually just let calls from numbers I don't recognise go to voicemail. If they don’t leave a message, it’s clear they’ve got the wrong person and I just block them straight away.
