Had the same thing happen to me not long ago. Found it pretty fishy. Tried ringing them back but the number didn’t even work. Definitely a scam!

Got a call telling me my contract was ending and that I could upgrade. From what I’ve seen, these companies count on you just letting it roll on so you keep getting charged. The bloke said Vodafone and O2 use the same network so I could upgrade and keep my number. Sounds dodgy to me. Feels like a scam or just someone trying to steal customers. Blocked straight away.

According to the person who contacted me, they claimed to be representing Vodafone. I inquired why Vodafone themselves hadn't reached out to me and their response was that Vodafone doesn't make customer calls, which I find highly inaccurate. Consequently, I promptly ended the call as I suspected it to be a scam.

Got a call claiming to be from Vodafone saying I could upgrade my phone. But when I contacted Vodafone last week, they told me my next upgrade isn’t due until Jan 2018. I asked how they got my details and they said it was from a “trusted marketing firm”. They also said they checked if I was on the Telephone Preference Service and apparently I’m not. Thing is, I signed up to TPS ages ago. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Got a missed call and called back, company said they were 'Aerial' and told me my vodafone contract was due for renewal. I renewed it just a couple days ago but fibbed and said I still had 6 months left. They then said "oh it's your 6 monthly reminder to renew early!" I said actually you can only renew 3 months before the contract ends, and they said "vodafone lets us do upgrades 6 months early for them!" I found that quite funny and just hung up. Total scam.

The caller started off all quiet and unclear, made me think it was Vodafone about my account - felt pretty sneaky. Maybe companies should use some kind of code or password to prove they really are who they say, especially if you already have an account with them. Had a few calls like this before, people trying to sell tablets but claimed to be Vodafone, though it turned out they actually were on checking.

Got a call earlier from a Portsmouth number claiming to be Vodafone, asking about my contract renewal. I told them the details were wrong and surely they'd see that if they looked it up. The guy then suggested maybe their records aren't up to date and asked if I renewed recently. I just stayed silent and ended the call. How do these people even get hold of my info if they’re not really Vodafone? Watch out, everyone!

Got a call from a Portsmouth number. A woman called herself Carrie from some Aerial company, said she was ringing for Vodafone. Claimed my contract was ending and I could do a phone upgrade. I told her my contract only started 6 months ago and I already upgraded, so she must have the wrong person. She then asked what phone I got, so I told her. Next thing, she said she'd "update the account". I asked who she thought she was talking to, and she said they don’t get names, only numbers. Straight to BLOCK!

They rang me at half past eight in the morning, seriously? My voicemail’s been off for ages and it just kept ringing for ages while I was still in bed. Had to drag myself up to check, worried it might be something about my 92-year-old granny who’s not doing great. But cheers to you lot, at least now I’m ready if they call again. Think it’s about time I wasted a bit of their time back. Calling them names probably won’t do much, I bet they get hassled all day with those scams. Gotta come up with a smarter way to get back at ’em.

A representative claiming to be from Vodafone called me, stating that it was time for a renewal. However, I informed them that I had just renewed my contract for a span of 2 years. They apologized, admitting that they did not have this information recorded. They inquired if I had upgraded my phone, but I expressed disinterest. They assured me that they would contact me again closer to my actual renewal date, which is only 18 months away. I found their call peculiar, especially since I recently secured a fantastic deal.

They made out like they were from Vodafone and began asking about my contract details. They called on the very day my contract ended, so I assumed it was Vodafone and kept talking. But when they started asking stuff I figured they should already know, I was like "wait, who even is this?" and they gave me some company name (something to do with Aerial, I think I saw it mentioned here). I just ended the call. I've since contacted Vodafone myself - gonna block those jokers for good!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Vodafone, said my contract needed renewing. I never agreed to that! Then they told me I couldn’t get an iPhone 7 because they were “out of stock” and offered to reduce my bill on a sim-only plan. When I asked about my data allowance, they had no clue. That didn't seem right at all for my actual provider. I rang Vodafone myself and they confirmed they didn’t call me. Watch out for this scam! I’ve blocked the number and reported it now.

Got a call from Aerial directing regarding my Vodafone deal. They said my contract ended this Feb and I could upgrade, but it’s actually not due till Feb 2018. Told the guy twice, but he kept trying to find out if I wanted a new phone or a better price. I insisted my contract still had at least a year left. After that, he said he'd double-check the details and ring me back. Pretty sure that was just a tactic to end the call.
