Got two calls earlier today. The first one was a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Microsoft - the typical scam stuff. I hit my panic alarm and he ended the call right away. Then, not long after, a woman called, just said hello and dropped the call. Probably the same Microsoft con. Proper nuisance especially since I’m waiting on a call from my doctor today.

Found it odd that my phone showed INTERNATIONAL but the number was 02392425901, which should be a local code right? Got two missed calls from it today and called back but no reply. Fingers crossed they call again, I enjoy messing about with these idiots. I try to keep them chatting for ages, film it, then upload to YouTube for a laugh.

Got a call from a confident guy with an Asian accent claiming he was with Microsoft. He asked if I was the primary user of my PC. Then he began to insult me, saying "You are a ..." and then hung up abruptly. A lady answered right after saying hello, and then the call cut out. Totally scammers, and they’re really rubbish at it!

He said his name was James Allan and claimed he was ringing from the Microsoft Technical Department in Reading. He mentioned it was raining over there. The guy had an Indian or Pakistani accent. After I struggled a bit describing my screen, he shifted the conversation to my keyboard and guessed I was using a Mac. "Ah yes," he said, "I’m calling regarding your Mac." I told him it seemed odd that Microsoft Tech would be calling me about a Mac, and after some loud, unintelligible talking with someone else, he just hung up.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft. When I told her Microsoft doesn’t call me out of the blue, she quickly changed her story saying she wasn’t from Microsoft but my PC was full of viruses. She said she could prove it, but I told her there’s no way I’d let her access my computer. I told her she was a con artist and ended the call myself. Honestly, these sorts of people are just awful, tricking people into believing something’s wrong and then trying to take their cash. Make sure you block this number or get a phone that can do it automatically.

02392425901; guy with an accent like Indian or Pakistani, really bad English, said he worked for Microsoft. Tried to say my name but totally messed it up, so I told him no one by that name lives here. He kept pushing, so I asked who he was, and I told him I don’t share info with strangers. Next thing he says, “I want £5000 now!” I asked why and he says “I’m very poor!” I told him sorry to hear that but that’s not my problem! Then he hung up.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian/Pakistani accent saying he was from Microsoft. He claimed my Windows PC was hacked and involved in some illegal stuff. When I asked him to prove which computer and operating system he was talking about, he dodged the questions. After about 10 minutes, he got annoyed because I wasn't playing along and threatened to block my computer, saying I wouldn’t be able to get online anymore. Obviously, he didn't succeed. I actually haven’t used Windows on any device connected to the internet for like 10 years, so it’s no shock he failed!

Got a call from this bloke claiming to be Alan Smith from Microsoft, though his accent gave away he was somewhere in Asia. He was saying my PC had been hacked and used for dodgy stuff like gambling and porn sites. Told me I had to follow his instructions on my computer or he'd block it. Asked him for proof and he dropped a code, ME0590, then told me to ring 0118 3280445 to check. I pictured him as a scruffy guy with a big moustache, shaggy hair, and wearing a white vest and bright red shorts - made the whole thing a bit more amusing. When I asked for an email to confirm he freaked out, claiming hackers would get all my info if he did that. I pointed out he already claimed the hackers had my details. That’s when his tone got louder, repeating threats of blocking my computer and even talking over me. In the end, he said if I wanted my computer blocked, he’d do it no problem. Said cheers and hung up. Took about 15 minutes, but was quite the laugh dealing with those pests.

I work as a computer consultant, so I know full well Microsoft never makes calls like that, even if they wanted to. I made it clear straight away that I knew it was a scam and he was just being dishonest. Got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft in Reading. I asked him three times to prove he worked for Microsoft and he kept insisting (obviously lying!). He wanted me to log into my computer, but when I refused, he turned quite aggressive and threatened to block my computer. I told him there’s no chance he’s getting access because I’m aware of the scam. Now he says Microsoft will block my computer. I replied I’d see him in court, and then he just hung up. Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft. They said my name, address and even postcode like they actually knew me. I told them they must be wrong cause I don’t have a computer with them and I’m not that person. After that, they just ended the call. Really tired of these annoying calls.

I didn't pick up, but I dialled 1471 afterwards and then looked it up online. Thanks everyone for the heads up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft support, asked for personal info to sort out a supposed problem with my PC. Total rubbish, just a dodgy scam. Better to just ignore calls like that.

BAD NEWS FOR MICROSOFT. These folks have no right to use Microsoft or Windows in their name. They’re a proper nuisance. Never ever let them get on your computer!

Got the exact call and went through the same thing. Never ever let them get into your computer. The bloke sounded Indian. 02392 - that’s a Portsmouth area code. Make sure everyone in your family is warned about this scam and stays cautious.

Supposedly calling from Microsoft. An Indian woman claimed there was an issue with my PC. When I told her I wasn't interested, she asked why. I told her I'd fallen for a scam like this before. She insisted it was a genuine Microsoft call and offered to prove the problem if I let her access my computer. Let’s hope she gets what's coming to her, that's all I can say!

Brilliant! Just received a call from them a mere twenty seconds back. It was early afternoon when we decided to hang up the phone.

Received a call from this number earlier today. As soon as our answering machine kicked in, they hung up immediately. Quite odd, really.

Someone rang up claiming to be from Microsoft regarding our computer issues. We couldn’t help but exclaim, “Not this number again!” and promptly hung up.
