I played along a bit, throwing in questions and pretending to 'wait for my computer' to boot up. The chap claimed to be in Reading, working in Microsoft technical support. When I confronted him, pointing out the irony of him calling to prevent hackers while requesting remote access to my computer, he flatly denied it. I warned him that I’d be reporting him to both Microsoft and the police, but he just continued to deny everything.
