They said they were from Valda Energy and mentioned something about our meter readings being confused with another place, kinda like others have said. The woman on the phone, who sounded like she had an Indian or Pakistani accent, asked me to verify our supply number and rattled off the last few digits. But when I asked why she needed that info, she just ended the call on me. Feels like a scam to me, though I can’t quite work out what they’d gain. No legit company would hand over details just like that over the phone anyway.

Absolute con artists! I received a call supposedly from Scottish Power, and just when I thought I was talking to a representative, they claimed they were connecting me to their supervisor, only to hand the phone to some random individual sitting right beside them! I firmly refused to disclose my contract's end date, stating I’d reach out to Scottish Power myself, as they insisted they couldn’t send me an email. They were incredibly persistent, ignoring my refusals, so I ultimately hung up. Be very cautious with these types of calls!

Got a call today from this number, the person said they were from Eon Energy. I mentioned we've actually switched from Eon, and then she told me they're now working with Octopus Energy, which we already use. The call supposedly was about an invoice, but when I asked her to email it over so I could check, she said it’s only visible through 'their portal'. She wouldn't help further unless we logged in there, so I just ended the call.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from our electric company, had our business address and even my name as the director. They said I’d get in trouble with the director (which is me!) if I didn’t rush to check the bill and meter. They mentioned something about the postcode being wrong and the amount being off. We've had calls almost daily from someone saying they're from Eon Next, asking to verify our supply number because their system supposedly can't link it to our address. Apparently there's some glitch on their end. Like others have mentioned, they sound quite convincing and I wouldn’t be surprised if they fool a few folks. Got a load of scammers pretending to be from Pozitive Energy, our energy supplier. They first called us on Thursday, and then shamelessly tried again the very next day. Today, they rang from a different phone number, this time from somewhere else. On April 17th, 2024, we received a call from someone posing as British Gas. They claimed to be experiencing IT problems, which resulted in inaccurate readings on our smart meter, showing higher energy usage than normal. Their intention was to ensure we would not be overcharged. While they did have some of our energy account information, they attempted to extract additional details from us without success. Suspecting it to be a scam, I decided to end the call and contact British Gas directly to verify the information. Upon hanging up, I quickly researched the phone number and confirmed my suspicions - it was indeed a scam. Since then, they haven't made any further attempts to contact us.
