Had a dodgy phone call the other day. The bloke on the other end claimed that they’d found a virus lurking in my computer system and then urged me to download some software from their site. Turns out, it was just another sneaky attempt to introduce a proper virus!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise. After checking what others said, looks like it’s one of those spammy ones. My BT Call Guardian picked it up right away and screened it for me. I’ve now put it straight on my block list so if they ring back, it’ll just be cut off without any warning.

They ring a couple of times every day, usually two or three attempts. Luckily, BT Call Guardian blocks their calls because they never say who they are to get past the screening. I tried ringing back once, but it just said the number wasn’t recognised. Definitely seems like a dodgy caller to me.

This sounds like one of those scam calls with someone speaking English but with an Asian accent? My computer’s windows are all fine, nothing wrong at all. I reckon the scammers seem to know both my landline and mobile numbers. Since I told the caller off a bit, I’ve been getting like 3 or 4 calls every day now. It’s proper annoying.

Got a call from some guy claiming he was with Tesco offering vouchers. He already knew my name and where I live, then tried to get my date of birth. It sounded dodgy straight away so I just hung up. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

This number phoned me three times over the past few days. When I tried calling back, it just wouldn’t connect. I tried again today and an Asian bloke answered with a simple "hello." I told him to stop calling me, and he said he’d add me to their BT nuisance caller list. I just said "fine" and ended the call. Be careful not to share any personal info - just give something like Donald Trump, The White House, USA, to be safe.

Blocked that number ages ago. I've got a BT phone (you don’t even need to be a BT customer) with their Call Guardian feature, and honestly, haven’t had a single annoying call come through in more than a year now. It’s been brilliant.

Friday evening around 8.48pm, I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent asking if I was a Miss So-and-so. I told her I wasn’t. Then she started quizzing me about whether I’d been to Tesco or Sainsbury’s lately. I said no. She then tried to verify my postcode, but it was wrong again. She just kept talking over me. I told her it sounded like a scam and hung up. Definitely blocking that number now.

They asked if I was between 40 and 50 years old, so I said yes even though I’m nowhere near that age. Then they called my husband David, which is completely wrong. They also asked my favourite colour, and something weird about ‘227’. When I asked why I was getting this gift since I hadn’t entered any competitions, they just said it was a random call. Guess I’ll wait and see what happens next.

I got a call around 2 in the afternoon from a guy with a foreign accent claiming to be from Tesco. That’s when I told him I didn’t think he was really from Tesco and asked for some proof, and he just ended the call. Not sure what the end game was, but feels like a fishy attempt to grab personal info or a scam. Definitely a dodgy caller to watch out for.
