Although our internet cuts out sometimes, we haven’t had any trouble downloading stuff. They asked my dad about the devices we use and said they wanted to take control of one, promising to ring again soon. I warned my dad it sounded like a scam and advised him to just hang up if they call back. They actually called four times back-to-back with hardly any pause in between. I’d say this number is nothing but annoying and suspicious.

Instead, he kept pushing me to open Google on my phone to find my internet ID and password. I told him that all that info is in my phone settings anyway, so no need for Google. After that, he just hung up on me! I kept telling him I wasn’t comfortable giving that info and that I doubted he worked for Virgin Media, but he just cut the call off straight away. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Got a few calls from someone claiming to be Virgin Media tech support, all from the same number. As soon as I tried to ask a few questions, the bloke just hung up on me every time! Honestly, best to just ignore them and not give them any attention.

I got a call from a woman who spoke really clear English but with an Indian accent. She claimed she was calling from Virgin Media and said they’re offering to safeguard my broadband against overseas hackers. Thing is, I use a different provider, so I was a bit doubtful. She insisted Virgin Media is doing this for all providers, which made me even more uneasy. In the end, I just ended the call. She sounded really professional and believable though!
