Total rip off, tried to scam me.

A number from Southampton popped up but I didn’t have a clue who it could be, so I just let it ring out to voicemail. Nothing was recorded though, which seemed odd. Decided to look up the number here and after what I found, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.

Received a call from some chaps supposedly regarding my boiler. I clarified that I’ve got an oil boiler, but they insisted I was listed as a gas customer. Quite baffling, really, as I don’t even have gas in my home! So, I promptly ended the call and added them to my block list.

Got a call just before 9 on a Saturday, but they hung up right as I was answering. Real companies tend to wait until after 9am to ring. So, I’ve blocked the number now.

This morning my landline rang and the caller asked for someone with the wrong name. I just ended the call straight away. After looking it up, I reckon it’s a scam pretending to be from the British Gas boiler programme. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number claiming to sell cheap boiler and central heating deals plus electricity cover with unlimited call outs, apparently from British Gas. The funny thing is that my area doesn’t even have Gas connected! I kept hassling them on the phone for 4 or 5 minutes before they finally cut me off. Honestly, why doesn’t BT shut this number down and stop these scammers from using their service?

They seemed to know an awful lot about me-my name, postcode, and even the brand of my boiler, which I hadn’t disclosed at all! It was all rather unsettling. When they then started probing for my bank sort code, I thought it best to end the call then and there. Very dodgy, if you ask me!
