This number actually belongs to HMRC, they use it to chase up unpaid taxes. It’s not a prank or anything, which is why when you try ringing them back the line’s usually busy. If you get a call from this number, make sure you pick up and sort things out with them pronto before stuff gets worse.

Got a voicemail saying my home’s being watched and that there’s a lawsuit filed against me. They told me to call back on that number or else I might face legal action. Bit worrying, not sure if it’s for real though.

Like a few others, I’ve been told I’m facing a legal case and that someone is watching my home. This is the second time I’ve received one of those creepy voicemails with the same claim. Honestly, I’d take the usual PPI hassle any day before dealing with these total con artists.

I’ve had loads of calls recently from someone saying there’s a court case going on with HMRC and that my house is being watched. It’s obviously a con. Best just to ignore them completely!

Got a call from someone pretending to be Her Majesty's Revenue Customs, telling me there's a legal case against me about some dodgy transactions. They even said my house is being watched! Not sure if it’s a joke or a scam.

Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMRC saying I’m being sued and my house has been watched. The bloke sounded convincing and gave a proper English name, Peter Walter, along with some ID and reference numbers. I ended up keeping him on the line for about seven and a half minutes - fingers crossed it wasn’t a premium rate call. Then he lost his cool, called me an idiot for wasting his time, and just slammed the phone down!
