On the 12th of January, 2022, I got a call from this number. The caller purporting to represent Microsoft insisted that my computer was experiencing issues. They mentioned that my device had been compromised by hackers and that I had overlooked alerts from my computer’s "Administration Centre." They wanted me to boot up my PC so they could demonstrate the alleged problems and guide me through a fix. I politely refused their assistance, but it was rather concerning how much information they possessed about me and my computer, which made them seem quite credible.

I got a call at like 7:15 in the morning and nearly tripped on the stairs, thinking it was something serious! That time of day is pretty sneaky for a call, could really take someone by surprise. I missed it though, so I rang back but no one picked up. Then, they called me again around 9:15, and I missed it again. It’s funny cause my elderly parents keep getting calls from "Amazon" too, even though they don’t have any Amazon account or anything like that.

I've received two calls from this number-one around 6:50 in the morning and the other at 9:30. The second call was from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, saying they were there to assist me with an issue on my computer and requested that I turn it on. I informed her I wasn't interested, and the conversation mirrored similar accounts I've seen from others. I decided to hang up, but they called me back twice afterward. It definitely feels like a scam, so I’m going to block this number.

Got a call from someone saying they were Microsoft about my computer. Honestly, if you’re out there scamming people, just stop it. So this bloke named John rang me up first, then passed me onto his manager Stella. She guided me on how to set up anydesk. After that, she connected me to some senior manager called Peter, who only chatted in Hindi. They all spoke with South Asian accents, just like others have mentioned, Microsoft definitely doesn’t ring you up about computer problems. It’s all about showing event viewer, installing anydesk, then they try to get remote access and drop ransomware. I ended up wasting a good 20 minutes of their time. Proper funny!

Rang me up on 7th January 2022 and an Indian voice came through, saying, "This is John from Microsoft. I vant to chat with the owner of the computer." The way he pronounced "computer" was a classic case of a thick accent that just made it all the more amusing. Honestly, these folks don’t have a clue how ridiculous they sound! Straight away I recognised it as a scam call and cut the line. Mission accomplished! I’ve also made sure to block the number.

Yet again, getting a call from some muppet pretending to be from Microsoft, looking to scam you out of your cash. These lot seem to pop up every day, trying to fleece folk who just don’t spot their tricks. It’s sad how many get caught up in this rubbish, ending up devastated, some even feeling hopeless enough to take drastic steps. Honestly, rather than some fancy punishment, I'd say the only way to deal with these clowns is to just swing 'em up and be done with it.

This woman said she was from Microsoft support, so I pretended to be interested and got passed over to a bloke who said he was a senior tech. He attempted the old "your MS config services aren't running" trick, but picked up that I knew what was going on and ended the call sharpish. Not long after, the same number phoned again and I got a different lady who said she was tech support too, but she must’ve recognised my voice because she hung up before getting through her usual spiel. With all the fancy tech nowadays, like smart roads and self-driving cars, you'd think they could do something about these annoying scam calls and actually hold the people behind them accountable. Got another call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, but I've had plenty like that before, all using different phone numbers. I told the bloke I actually run Linux, not any Microsoft software. There was a long silence before he mumbled something and ended the call. These scammers have no clue if your PC’s infected; their aim is just to get into your machine and nick your data. They fake UK numbers to seem legit. The phone companies that manage these numbers really ought to step in and block them, it’s not difficult, but most just don’t bother.

Sounds like there’s some kind of auto-answer setup picking whoever picks up quickest. So frustrating!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from Microsoft. I pretty much told her in no uncertain terms where to shove her scam before hanging up. Honestly, these scammers are the absolute worst kind of people.

Got a typical Microsoft scam call from a lady in India today. She got pretty annoyed when I told her I never talk about anything on sketchy calls. Classic fraud attempt.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, really pushing it hard. When I told her Microsoft doesn't just ring people out of the blue, she insisted she was working under contract for them and needed to fix a virus on my computer. Complete waste of time if you ask me.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. She kept saying she needed to check my computer, but I told her I didn't have one. Then she switched to saying laptop but when I said I didn't have that either, she just hung up.

Yet again, some dodgy character claiming to be from Microsoft is trying to get on the phone with me - probably some bloke dodging the law from overseas. Same old nonsense, they talk you into letting them peek at your computer so they can nick your money. These lot are nothing but scammers and con artists. Honestly, the smartest move is just to cut them off. Occasionally I mess around with them a bit, but be ready: they’ll often shout and curse if you’re wasting their “valuable” time. Happy Christmas, folks!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, who had my name and said they needed to chat about my computer. I told him I don't own a computer. Then he went all sarcastic and said, "Your laptop then, ma'am!" When I mentioned I actually purchased one for someone else, he just ended the call. Doesn't feel right to me, probably a scam. These kinds of calls always seem to pop up around Christmas time!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from "MICROSOFT" about issues with my pc. I said I don’t even own a desktop, but he kept insisting I have a laptop. I kept telling him no, I don’t have any, then he just ended the call. Definitely wasn’t as polite by the end. Total SCAM.

Had a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft support, and weirdly enough, they already knew my last name. I played along and asked them for my Microsoft security password, which of course I don’t have. After that, they just cut the call. Pretty sure it was a scam.

The number 023820229091 kept ringing my wife's phone and she tried to be polite but the person on the other end wasn’t having it. They yelled at her a bunch of times, so she finally just gave up and ended the call. Then they called straight back and carried on shouting, which made her hang up for good. Bit rude really.

I was eagerly anticipating a call from the hospital when suddenly, a bothersome SCAMMER decided to interrupt. What a hassle! I've ended up blocking the number. Since I've got a bit of time on my hands in retirement (a tad boring, if I'm honest), I've been keeping track of these nuisance calls and, believe it or not, this was the 169th one this year alone, all from different digits. Alas, my phone only allows me to block 30 at a time. These unsolicited callers are such a pain, so I tend to ignore any number I don't recognise, but they really are a constant irritant!

Got a call yesterday around 11:23 from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. He insisted that my PC had been hacked. I played along, asking “Is that so?” Then he went on about how my computer was supposedly helping to spread viruses globally. I cheekily asked if that was the reason omicron was spreading so quickly. After a brief pause of silence, I just hung up and blocked the number.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft cyber security, telling me I was wasting their time. They said they'd block my computer and I'd have to take it all the way to Reading to get it unlocked, plus pay a fine. Absolutely priceless scam!

On the 18th of December 2021, I received a call from someone purporting to be from Microsoft. My husband, sceptical about her identity, politely expressed his doubts and ended the call. Shortly after, the same caller got in touch again using two separate numbers. When I confronted her, her tone turned aggressive, and she began to raise her voice, threatening that my husband’s license would be revoked and that our computer would cease to function. It was bizarre to say the least! She also tried reaching us on 02382029875 and 02039893363, ringing mere minutes apart after the initial call. Remarkably, it was the same voice, claiming to be located in Reading. Quite the experience!
