Got a voicemail from an automated system telling me to ring them back straight away. Pretty clear to me it’s one of those scams.

Total con! They claimed there’s a warrant out for my arrest over some unpaid taxes and then proceeded to request personal details. When I probed them for more info, they were utterly clueless!

I received a missed call from this number, so I decided to return the call. A woman picked up and claimed to be from HM Revenue and Customs. When I asked her to repeat herself, she abruptly ended the call. I tried again, and once more, she introduced herself as HMRC. I mentioned I had missed a call from them and enquired what it was regarding, but, predictably, she hung up on me yet again. Quite the peculiar encounter!
