I’ve just had a phone call promising a refund of over £4000 for excess taxes I've supposedly paid, but they want £100 for some admin nonsense. They claimed to be ringing from moneysavingexpert.com on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. Honestly, what a nuisance!

Received a call just a moment ago, yet another scam attempt with identical financial demands. I shall be notifying the authorities.

Claiming to be from the tax office, stating that a tax refund of over £4000 is due.

Absolutely brilliant! I've apparently got a tax refund of £4681 coming my way. All I need to do is purchase a Paysafe Card for a mere £100 from my nearby shop, and lo and behold, the cheque will magically appear at my front door. Oh, really now?!

Today, I received a rather dubious phone call, purportedly from the Ministry of Justice, claiming I'm owed £4,681 in tax overpayments. They assured me that a cheque would be sent straight to my home. (It appears they’ve somehow obtained my address - likely through some company mischief with phone number sales - despite my years of enrolling in the telephone preference service.) The catch? I simply need to send a so-called solicitor, who’s apparently on this matter for the Ministry, a £100 administration fee. I was even provided with elaborate instructions on how to acquire a moneygram at the post office. Normally, I would have hung up on these crooks in a flash, but today I decided to let her ramble on a bit longer. After all, while she was busy chatting away, at least she wasn't trying to con some vulnerable elderly soul. She even gave me a number to call her back once I was ready with my moneygram.

Received a rather dubious phone call yesterday, claiming it was from a government department regarding a tax refund of £4881, supposedly to be delivered to my home. However, the catch was that I needed to buy a £100 voucher beforehand, which I was to hand over to the chap on arrival! I can't help but sense a bit of a red flag here; it seems that some individuals might fall for this and act on impulse. If there was genuinely a tax rebate owed to you, the government wouldn't be asking for you to buy a voucher first, certainly not for "administrative costs." Quite the scam, if you ask me!

My elderly folks received a phone call today from someone asserting they were owed £4,881 due to tax overpayment. They were told to pay a £100 admin charge at a nearby shop, specifically Londis on Baldwin Avenue, Glasgow. The name mentioned was Alan Smith, but the accent was definitely not local - very suspect, if you ask me!

I received a rather dubious call claiming to be from a money-saving advisory service, suggesting that, on behalf of the Ministry of Justice, they wanted to issue me a tax refund of £4,600. When I expressed my scepticism, they handed me this contact number for customer service. However, I decided against calling, as I feared it might lead to an expensive premium line. Quite fishy, if you ask me!

I received a rather peculiar call from this number, and it felt quite dodgy if I’m honest. They introduced themselves as 'Loans' and were rather insistent about me needing credit. Apparently, if I forked out £85 up front, they’d supposedly grant me £250 or some such nonsense. It seemed all tied to something called a UKASH voucher, and they kept mentioning ringing back to confirm a PIN number daily. Honestly, I’m left scratching my head-what on earth is this number all about?
