Then another person called, saying he was the manager, and insisted I put down an extra £500 so the government could release £5500 into my account. I just ended the call and now I’m desperately trying to figure out if this is legit or some kind of scam. After pretending to run a credit check, he said I needed to pay £100 upfront before the money would arrive. I told him if that’s true, they could just deduct the £100 from the loan amount.
