They requested that I put down a deposit of £100, which I foolishly went ahead and did. Not long after that, I got another call from someone who identified themselves as the manager, demanding that I fork out an extra £500 as a sort of government fee to enable the transfer of £5500 into my bank account. I've just wrapped up that call and I'm now seeking some advice on how to handle this situation...5 yearsI received a phone call where they promised to deposit a £3000 loan into my account within a quarter of an hour. After a supposed credit check, the caller then insisted I needed to pay £100 upfront to unlock the funds. I pushed back, suggesting they could simply deduct the £100 from the loan amount, but he claimed that wouldn't be feasible. At that point, I decided to hang up. It's evident this is a con, and despite their persistence, I’ve chosen to ignore their calls.5 yearsI received a call regarding my national insurance number, claiming it had been involved in some fraudulent activity. The caller mentioned that only the government should have access to my NI number. When I told them I was recording our chat, they abruptly hung up.
