I received a rather peculiar phone call from a woman named Jo Taylor, claiming to be a senior advisor from some energy company. She boldly mentioned that she wanted to present me with a sum of £600! Now, being no stranger to the ways of the world and certainly not on any benefits, I was naturally suspicious of such an offer - after all, there’s no such thing as a freebie, is there? So, when I probed a bit further, she snapped back, “So, you’re turning down my offer of £600?” I found her tone quite off-putting, and when I politely expressed my disinterest, she curtly insisted, “Right, you’ve made your choice then.” That was more than enough for me - I promptly ended the call!

Got a call from a man claiming there was a government grant for making your home better insulated. Pretty sure it's one of those scams that’s been going around for ages. These cold calls really shouldn’t happen, as they’re against the rules, and all they want is to check your details so they can scam you more later on. Didn’t waste time, just blocked the number.

Got a call from a bloke saying something about a government grant to help with home insulation. Pretty sure it’s one of those dodgy scams going around. These cold calls are against the law, and they just want to check your details like name and address so they can rip you off later. I’ve blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from some English bloke, sounded like he was shouting over a busy call centre. I reckon it's that same dodgy scam I've had ringing me before. Proper annoyance!

Spoke to a woman with a pretty convincing accent who said she was some kind of adviser for the area my postcode is in. She called me by name which was a bit surprising, but messed up my address. Then she started asking personal questions about my situation, which I wasn’t comfortable answering. She brought up a government grant supposedly for home insulation. I got a funny feeling about it and told her that any money like that would come straight from the government, not her. After that, she quickly ended the call.

Total scam, honestly. Someone called to try and sell me home insulation and wouldn’t let me get a word in at all - just kept talking over me the whole time. In the end, I just hung up on them.

I hung up but then got called again, this time with them sending a scary message.

Constantly getting calls from this lot! They persistently inquire whether I’m the property owner. Turns out it's some energy firm. Such a nuisance!

I've been receiving a slew of calls from this number, yet every time I answer, there's no one on the line. Could it be some pesky spammer or an automated dialing system at work?

Someone told me my loft insulation wasn’t good enough. Seriously? My house feels cosy and the loft is chilly, so it seems like it’s working just fine to me.

I got a call where they already knew my full name and where I live, and insisted I was the homeowner - which I’m definitely not. The call was about energy and how new rules mean my insulation and roof aren’t up to scratch or whatever. Had to tell them three times to remove me from their list before they finally stopped pestering. Honestly, I’m a bit concerned this kind of call could really fool someone more vulnerable.
