Got a call today from someone saying I'd get arrested if I didn't pay HMRC £1800. Sounded like a scam to me so I just ended the call and didn't pick up when they rang back. Told them I was gonna contact HMRC myself and sort it out.

HMRC never just rings you out of the blue sayin you owe them cash. They only get in touch about debts you already know about and are expecting to pay.

Since the 8th of November, I’ve had about 15 calls from this number. Even after I blocked it, they keep ringing me over and over. I tried ringing back but it says the voicemail is full, so I cant leave a message asking them to stop. Really annoying!

I actually blocked this number ages back but it popped up again today. So, I kept track of how many times they’ve rung me: once in August, twice in October and five times in November. I’m curious how many my phone will automatically block in December?

I’m not sure if this is legit or not??? Can BT look into this number for us and block it if needed? People should be warned more as the area code 02380 is for Southampton, but what about the number 002092? Where is that even from?? My wife got a call from it and didn’t pick up thinking it might be a scam. Then I got a call from them and when I answered, the person just asked “Do you mind answering?” which felt odd.

They said they were from a law firm and began by confirming my name, so obviously someone must’ve given them that info. Then they went on about their services without really getting to the point. I told them to cut the sales pitch and just say what they wanted. She asked if I needed any legal help as they could assist with all kinds of advice. I ended up blocking and deleting the number after telling them nicely to buzz off!
