Got a call this morning, but being 74 and quite frail, I couldn’t reach the phone in time. I tried redialling but was told the number doesn’t exist! Bit odd, right? So I couldn’t return their call. I’ve now blocked the number using my Call Safe device, which blocks unwanted calls. Honestly, I’d recommend it - it’s a tiny gadget, one off payment, no ongoing fees. Check it out online if you’re fed up with dodgy calls.

Got a call about some Sky refund, or so they said. When I asked when I supposedly paid too much, they couldn’t give me a straight answer. I kept them on the line for a bit, having a bit of fun, and when they asked for my bank info, I told them I haven’t used Sky for over five years. They didn’t hang about after that and just ended the call.

Had a call from 0220202020, claiming they were from Sky and wanted my bank info. Obviously, I didn’t share anything. I rang up Sky myself to check and it turned out they had nothing to do with it. Just some dodgy scammers trying to con folks. I’ve already reported it to Action Fraud, who are in touch with the police about it.

Sky’s refund team #### are absolute muppets, honestly go shove it and wherever you crawled out from. Sorry for the language but it’s so frustrating dealing with these pests doing this crap.

Today I got a call from this number. The person said they were with Sky and that I’d paid too much and was due a refund. They asked for my bank details so they could send the money back... felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.

Classic pests looking for a quick payday by fooling honest folks. Rang from 12-1-17 claiming a Sky refund. The tosser already had my name and address but then asked for my DOB. When I said I'd call back with that info, they just cut the line. Tried ringing them back but the number wasn’ even in service.

Someone called claiming to be from the Sky refund team and asked for my bank info. I told them I thought it was a scam and demanded to speak to a supervisor. Then a different person answered, using exactly the same spiel. They are clearly trying to fish out bank details to steal money.

A bloke called 'John' rang me up claiming he was from Sky and said I was owed a refund. He tried to get my bank card info and even mentioned the last four digits of my card. I didn’t give him any more details, told him if he was legit Sky he’d already have my info and could sort the refund without me telling him anything. He said he didn’t have my full details but said I could ring and check after I gave him my card info. I said no way, and eventually he twigged I wasn’t biting and ended the call.

About twenty minutes back, I received a rather peculiar telephone call from someone claiming to be a government official. He rattled on about having a cheque for me-sounded like quite a hefty sum too-and insisted that my bank was the one responsible for this windfall. He then began probing me for my address details, despite having them in front of him, asserting that he needed to verify my identity. I shot back that if he was truly from the government, he ought to know exactly who he was speaking to. He then switched gears, saying he’d send over the cheque and wanted to know which bank I preferred for the deposit. At that point, I cheekily responded that he could find a bank when pigs started flying past my lounge window, and promptly ended the call.

I thought they were legit at first as they knew some details about my Sky account. But turns out it's just a clever scam. They even said I was about to get a refund... so dodgy!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Windows support. Got really annoyed when I asked them to verify my name but they couldn’t. Then I asked why Windows would have data about Mac devices anyway? (Funny part is, I don’t even own a laptop at the moment - mine just broke!)

Got a call from an Asian woman warning me my computer would be shut down the next day. She passed me onto a couple more colleagues who repeated the same nonsense. They wanted me to change some settings to let them access my computer through [#]teamview, which obviously would've given them control. Luckily, I baulked at the last minute. It all felt like those cheesy ‘guru’ help lines that promise free support. Honestly, it left me feeling a bit daft. Why don’t they just find proper jobs instead of scamming folks?

Got two calls today. When I said 'Hello' all I got was silence. Can’t wait to see how long I can keep them waiting. Might as well give them my account number 5318008 and then hint at flipping the calculator over.

Got a call from Edward at Talk Talk early this morning, around 7, asking me to switch on my computer. I said no. We went back and forth a bit. He told me to ring 02031291097 before 4.40. I didn’t bother. Definitely a scam. Don’t fall for it.

Got a call today from someone pretending to be from TalkTalk, claiming there was an issue with our internet - which is actually right! They asked if I could log onto my computer, but I said I was about to leave. Then they told me to ring 0203 129 1097 and ask for a guy named Tom Henry to sort it out later. He had a pretty thick foreign accent! If I hadn’t already been suspicious, the fact they said I’d speak to the same person at the call centre just made it sound even more fishy.

Got a call today, the guy asked for me. I told him I wasn’t here. Then he said, “She’s passed away.” I told him that’s not true, I saw her just recently. He asked when, and I said about an hour back. Then he insisted she died half an hour ago. That kind of call could really upset someone, it’s a cruel thing to say.

They’ve been ringing me a couple of times a week for a few months now, always asking for me. I never give them any info, but they just keep calling. Sometimes they use different names, though I swear I’ve heard the same voice on a few occasions. Lately, I’ve started ignoring the calls from this number, just letting it ring out, but they don’t seem to get the message at all.

Some bloke rang me, sounded Indian, called himself Sam Thomas claiming to be from TalkTalk. He told me my internet was slow and that he could fix it if I went onto my PC and did what he said. I told him I wasn’t free at the moment and asked for a number to call him back. He gave me 02031291097 and said to ask for Sam Thomas. I didn’t hang about and rang TalkTalk myself, and they told me it was a scam! Watch out for this one!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from TalkTalk, but it felt like a total scam. I struggled to catch what he was saying, so I asked him to send me an email or a letter to confirm. That really set him off and he started swearing at me, so I just ended the call. After that, the same number rang me about five times, all going straight to voicemail. On the last one, I answered but didn’t say anything, just left the phone across the room. I could hear him shouting abuse through the speaker. I’ve passed the number onto TalkTalk and they promised to block it.

Some guy called Alex, sounded Indian, phoned me claiming to be from Windows licensing. He said this was his fifteenth call about an urgent renewal for my Windows licence because apparently someone was trying to hack into my computer. Thing is, he couldn’t even say what Windows version I was running, yet wanted me to give him access to sort out the licence! Honestly, it was probably the most laughable phishing call I’ve ever gotten. His English was terrible and he clearly had zero clue about tech.

I got two calls on 2nd November 2015. The first time when I picked up, there was just silence. The second call was from a guy with an Indian accent who said his name was David and that he was ringing from Talktalk. As soon as I mentioned that we’ve switched providers and aren’t with Talktalk anymore, he just ended the call. He obviously knew my name, but this felt like a total scam to me.
