kept him on for nearly an hour pretending I hadn’t a clue

when he started on about 'how to sort your hacking issues' I just said I’m actually in IT security, he ended the call sharpish

bit of a silly move but I had nothing better to do and figured I’d get a cheap giggle out of it :-)

somebody rang me saying they were a network security pro, asking me to get on my computer and do some stuff. seemed really sketchy, like they were kinda desperate to get me to open up any internet-connected gadget I have at home. definitely don’t trust that call.

Got a call today from a guy with an Indian or maybe Pakistani accent, said he was from MSN. He told me there were problems with my MSN email account and needed to fix some errors. The whole thing sounded a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Dell tech support. They asked for my full name, email address, and what kind of computer I had. Turns out, they were frauds! I think Dell has had some kind of info leak because these scammers had too much personal info. I just recorded the call and played along but never let them near my laptop. There's loads of videos on YouTube under "computer support scammers" if you want to see how they try to trick you.
