they really need to warn people on the news about these phone scams, so no one gets tricked. everyone these days knows not to fall for bogus calls, but some still end up opening a bank account or giving access, then the scammers dig around for your bank info and track everything you type for days. phishing’s a massive issue, and its about time they made it clear on every news app.

Today, I received a barrage of calls from the number 02179452813 - four in total, I believe. The first call was a chap with a foreign accent, and the only bit I caught was something about the BT technical department. Naturally, I decided to end that call. A short while later, a woman rang me up with a similar spiel, and I requested that she remove my number from their database. Yet, wouldn’t you know it, that same bloke called back, and I promptly hung up again. Then, just when I thought it might be over, he called yet again and questioned, “Why did you hang up on me?” I replied, “Seriously? You expect me to take you for a BT employee? This feels like harassment at this point!” He attempted to argue, but I cut him off again. Thankfully, that was the last I heard from them today - but given that they’ve been pestering me for three consecutive days now, I’m not particularly optimistic about tomorrow.
