I received a call from this number at precisely 15:20 today. The caller was a chap who sounded Indian or perhaps Bengali, and he inquired about speaking with Mrs. *****. I explained that she is my mother, but sadly, she's no longer with us, and requested that they remove this home number from their records. He then asked if I was Miss *****; I confirmed that I was but mentioned that I'm still under eighteen, so he's not allowed to survey me. When he probed further for my age, I told him I was 17, just as my mobile began to buzz. The man then cheekily asked who was calling me on my iPhone and if I had a boyfriend. I curtly replied that it's none of his concern, yet he went on to ask if I’d been intimate with him. That really riled me up, so I told him to shut the hell up. He then warned me not to hang up, but I didn’t hesitate and cut the call. My dad attempted to ring the number back right after, only to be met with a message stating it was an incorrect number.

The person on the other end claimed to be from the National Helpline, inquiring whether I had experienced an accident within the past two years. I opted not to engage with his questioning, and he promptly cut the call!

I've been receiving numerous calls from this number, yet they never bother to leave a message on my answering machine. Just a heads-up: I absolutely refuse to pick up when they ring. My answering machine is staying switched on at all times for genuine callers to leave a proper message! I would strongly advise against engaging with these individuals... Some bloke called me saying his name was David, sounded like he might be Indian or Asian. He was trying to get me to do some survey. I told him I work nights and had just finished a shift, but he just wouldn’t stop banging on. Told him to take my number off his list, but still got calls at 11:30, then again at 11:34 and 11:39. Proper annoying.

Just set your phone to send every call straight to the answerphone. Then, only get back to the ones that actually leave a message or a real contact number. That way you avoid all the hassle from random calls.

Got a call today from someone calling himself Peter, sounded like he was from India. He wanted to chat with the house owner but I didn’t give away who I was. Then he asked if I could answer just one question about whether I had a BT phone line or provider - I said no. After that, he asked if I was aged between 17 and 75, but I told him that was an extra question and then just ended the call. He tried to keep me on the phone with loads of rambling, but I wasn’t having it!

This sounds like one of those scam groups from India. They gather loads of your info first, then pick a dodgy service to ring you up and try to swindle money out of you. Watch out!

The caller claimed the call was regarding my telephone line, but then hastily began asking for my address, which I, of course, refused to provide. It’s apparent they’ve been trained to rush through their script, trying to extract as much information as possible before you can even question them about their motives. I simply replied with a curt "Goodbye" and ended the call. A couple of hours later, that same number rang again twice, but I chose to ignore them. It seems they’ve devised a way to make it appear as though they’re calling from a UK number, yet it’s quite evident they’re actually overseas.

This does not appear to be a genuine UK phone number at all, and it's definitely not associated with the Telephone Preference Service in any conceivable manner. It’s quite likely that it’s either a spoofed line or linked to dubious online activities.

The moment we inquired about the reason for her call at such a late hour-specifically, 9:20pm-she abruptly hung up. This whole situation feels quite shady.
