A man with a foreign accent, claiming to be from Global PC Support, called me saying my computer was showing error alerts. He tried to push some kind of fix that I would have to pay for. Sensing it was a con, I dragged the call on for about an hour but never actually turned my PC on. I told him it was giving weird blue screen errors. When he asked for my credit card info, I just said I don't have one. I've heard they often try to get remote access, then mess up your system on purpose, charging you for a fake service. Plus, they might attempt to steal sensitive stuff like your online banking details.

Got a call from a man claiming to be with Global PC support, saying my computer was sending out error alerts. He tried to pitch me some kind of fix. I thought it sounded dodgy, so I didn’t turn my computer on. Instead, I just chatted with him for around an hour to waste his time. Kept telling him my screen went all weird and showed strange error messages. When he asked for my card info, I told him I don’t have one. Usually, they want to get remote access and either cause trouble or steal your online banking info. Classic scam stuff.
