11 yearsI've had a right nuisance with these con artists claiming to be from "Windows Technical Support" or "Microsoft Support" among other aliases. They prattle on about supposedly spotting issues with your computer for quite a while. It's complete nonsense! Their only aim is to gain access to your machine, not to resolve anything, but rather to plant malware. I managed to keep one of them on the line for a bit before I casually mentioned that I use a Mac, not a Windows system at all. That seemed to do the trick, as they quickly lost their enthusiasm and hung up. Quite amusing, really!11 years02125840021 gave me the usual “tech support” call, trying to trick me into letting them access my computer and probably bung me some malware. I hung about on the phone with them for a bit, just to waste their time, then told them I’m on an Apple Mac and they quickly lost interest!11 yearsI've had four calls in the space of one day from them, all claiming there’s an issue with my PC. When I pointed out that what they said made no sense at all and couldn't be true, the bloke just ended the call. Honestly, this is starting to feel like nothing but harassment now.11 yearsReceived a peculiar call regarding some Windows error notifications, but seeing as I solely utilise Apple devices, I don't have any dealings with the Windows OS. So, I can only deduce that it must be a dodgy scheme!Apple11 yearsGot a call out of the blue around 11 in the morning on 20th August 2015. It was a bloke with an Asian accent who wanted to speak to a resident by their first initial and last name. He claimed he was ringing from technical support about my computer. Then, the line suddenly went dead, which made me think it might’ve been a scam.11 yearsGot a call from a lady with an Indian accent, saying my computer had a virus. Told her I don’t even own one, and she suddenly rambled nonsense. Hung up straight away - totally felt like a scam!11 yearsSo this woman with an Indian accent called me, claiming there was some virus on my PC. I told her my computer was absolutely fine, but she insisted I log on so she could walk me through fixing it. I let her know I’ve got computer science qualifications and even run a small computer repair business, so I’m pretty sure there’s nothing wrong. She then started to fumble over her words and hung up, saying she wouldn’t recommend me! Honestly, the nerve of these callers. FYI, my “business” is actually selling on eBay (rag-republic, check it out), and I’ve never done any kind of degree!Rag - Republic11 yearsgot a call from a woman named elita claiming to be from some computer tech dept - i cut her off pretty quick cos iv had calls like this before. told her to buzz off and never ring me again. these scammers are such a nightmare - must be making money somehow cause the calls just keep coming non stop. some proper authority should step in and put a stop to this. honestly, i’m fed up with picking up the phone just to get hassled by someone probably sitting miles away in mumbai or wherever, knowing full well its a scam. absolutely disgraceful behaviour!ElitaMumbai11 yearsThe person on the phone had an accent that seemed like they could be from China or India. They claimed my computer was showing error alerts. I cut them off straight away and made it clear they were not to ring me back under any circumstances.11 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be from the 'computer tech support', saying my computer was sending out errors. Before I could even tell them how dodgy that sounds and that they should be ashamed for scamming people, the call just dropped.11 yearsthis bloke called me up claiming there was a virus on my computer. told him straight away i don’t even own one. he then started accusing me of lying. i wasn’t having any of it, gave him a piece of my mind, and ended the call.11 yearsI've had this number ring me up twice within just half a day, claiming there's some kind of alert from my laptop. Don't fall for it and definitely don't share any info with them - it's a total con!12 yearsGot a call from a bloke saying he was from Microsoft, trying to get money off me. He asked a couple of questions then just dropped the call. Total scam!MicrosoftSubmit Your Own Report (021 2584 0021)
