Somebody rang from BT saying they already had the first four numbers of my card from the bank and asked me to confirm the rest. When I told them I used to work as a bank manager, they got really narky and started accusing me of lying when I challenged their story. Felt like a total scam.

So far I've had 5 calls from this number just before half eleven in the morning, first one came through at about 9. I noticed they rang a few times yesterday too. I usually dont pick up if the number doesnt look familiar, I just google it afterwards. This time, no messages were left either.

Got a call from someone sounding Indian, claiming to be from BT with some deal. They wanted my bank info, so I called them out as a scammer and ended the call. Not even a minute later, got another call from the same number! Bit cheeky if you ask me. Already reported it to BT.

I've lodged a complaint with the ICO and Ofcom. They never seem to answer, and these calls always come in on a Friday afternoon. It's simply not right that these unwelcome calls are permitted. There ought to be regulations preventing the Post Office, telecommunication companies, electoral roll officials, and local councils from peddling our personal information like this.

I got a call from someone claiming to be BT, offering a "special deal" for loyal customers - funny, since I don't even have BT as my provider! The caller wanted to confirm some details, mentioned my name and number, then asked for my postcode. I calmly said no, and when she pressed again, I told her if she was genuine, she’d already have my info. She swore at me and cut the call. It’s scary how easy it was to spot, but I reckon loads of elderly folks might get caught out by this kind of scam.
