Received a dodgy call purporting to be from "Windows Support" on the 21st of February, 2017.

Over the last week, this number has rung me up thrice. The initial two calls had some annoying beeping noise before they ended suddenly. The third call dragged on for a bit, then a lady with an Indian accent claimed to be from the Windows Support Team, saying there was an issue with my PC not installing updates properly. I told her I actually use a Mac and mostly run Linux for my CAD work. She just disconnected straight away. Definitely a scammer looking to hack into folks’ computers or network devices.

I've had this number ring me thrice in the last week. The first two calls just had a loud beep then instantly cut off. The third call was different - after a long pause, a lady with an Indian accent said she was from the Windows Customer Support Centre and claimed there was an issue with my PC updating software. I told her that I actually use a Mac and deal with Linux CAD tools for work. She quickly ended the call after that. Definitely a dodgy scammer looking to get into people’s computers or network devices.

I saw this number online listed as the Yahoo support line but it's definitely not legit. When they ring you, you can tell they're in some sort of call centre because there’s a lot of background noise and it's hard to catch what they’re saying. Most of the people answering have quite broken English and sound like they’re from India.

I received a call from this number earlier today, but as soon as I picked up, the line went dead. I attempted to return the call, only to find that the number wasn’t recognised. Quite peculiar!

I swear it’s not Windows calling or anything like that, but since I got this new phone line, I've been getting calls from the same lot at least three times daily. The weird part is, I’m sure they’re the only people who have this number because we’ve never shared it or actually used it ourselves! I warned them that if they ring one more time, I'll be reporting them to the police. The lady on the other end just told me to have a great day and basically told me to shove off. Proper laugh that was!

I picked up but there was just silence on the other end. After a few seconds, I could hear some muffled office noise, but no one said anything. So, I ended the call.

For the past week, we've been getting multiple calls every day to our business, but as soon as we mention the business name or stay silent, they just hang up. It’s really irritating.

Mark called me out of the blue, sounded Indian or somewhere around that, started with “how are you today?” then went on about some Windows problem. A mate of mine fell for this exact trick and got proper done over.

Got loads of calls from this number over time. Eventually managed to get hold of the bloke. He claimed he was from the Windows support team, speaking with a strong Indian accent, and started by asking how I was. I asked him why he was ringing. He told me there were problems with my computer that needed fixing. I told him I’m an IT pro myself and told him to hang up. He ended up saying “f##k off mate” pretty rudely. Couldn't help but laugh!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said my Windows 7 had an issue and wanted me to switch my PC on. I tried asking her which company provides my internet but she couldn’t get it right. After I kept questioning her, she lost her temper, called me a muppet, and just hung up on me.

Had a call from someone called Alex, which I thought was an odd name for a guy from India. He claimed to be with the Windows support team, saying my PC was sending harmful signals while online. I played along for a bit before I mentioned I work in IT myself and pointed out that Windows is just a software, not a company. He just laughed, swore at me, and slammed the phone down.

The same number gave me a ring last week but I ignored it. Then, very early this morning at about 4:45, they called again and I picked up because I was waiting to hear about my brother's situation. A lady with quite a thick Indian accent spoke and said her name was Veronica. She asked if I was the only one who used my computer, which seemed odd, so I just ended the call. I've since decided to block that number on my phone.

I’ve had a bunch of calls from some folks claiming to be from Windows. Honestly, it’s pretty ridiculous. The calls are super annoying and definitely feel like a scam. Every time a lady with an Indian accent rings me up, but she kinda just backs off once I mention I don’t even own a computer.

Received a dodgy call from someone claiming to be part of Microsoft Support. The accent seemed Indian, and they were keen on getting access to my computer via Remote Desktop. I'm not falling for that! I keep my number under wraps, but when I attempted to ring them back, I couldn’t get through. Best to stay vigilant!

Got a call from this number earlier today. I couldn't help but chuckle when the caller said they were ringing from "Windows" - as if that’s some company! Everyone knows Windows is just the name of an operating system, whether it's XP, 7, 10 or whatever, it aint a company on its own. The real firm behind it is Microsoft! It’s like if Kelloggs called you up saying they were from "Cornflakes" - makes no sense at all!

Got a call from some guy named Ricky, said he was from Windows. I told him I'd been expecting their call and was hoping he could sort out my iMac. Out of nowhere, he just told me to "F##k off". Got two calls from this number today, and they usually ring in the afternoons. The guy said his name was Alex and tried to offer help with my windows. I told him it’s funny how they keep calling day after day and I’m still not interested. Then he just said ‘K you’! Honestly, I don’t understand why this number is still active. The callers have an Indian accent and whatever this is about, they act like it’s some kind of joke. Being insulted like that really unsettles me!
