Got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft about my computer, but I don’t even have Microsoft on it. I told them right away they were just scammers. The woman, who sounded Asian, then started swearing at me pretty badly. I just hung up straight away. Not exactly a pleasant chat!

It seems I've been plagued by calls from someone impersonating TalkTalk, claiming there's an issue with my router. They've dialled my number multiple times a day - at times, even three! I've contacted TalkTalk directly, and this is now the second time they’ve had to change my phone number to put a stop to it. Quite the inconvenience, I must say!

Lately, I've been inundated with calls-roughly four a day-from this number claiming to be from TalkTalk. They keep insisting that I turn on my computer, but naturally, I've never obliged. After my repeated suggestions, TalkTalk even went so far as to change my number. This harassment has persisted ever since their data breach, although they maintain that my details weren't affected. It's high time someone put an end to this nonsense!

I've found that TalkTalk never seem to call to say there's an issue with your account. It's always up to the customer to contact them first. So, if someone calls claiming to be from TalkTalk saying there's a problem, that’s pretty much a scam every time.

Got a call at 8 in the morning on our landline, my missus picked up and it was a lady with an Indian accent wanting to chat with me or her. Something felt off so we just ended the call. Later on in the afternoon, they tried again but the moment we said hello, they cut the line. Definitely dodgy, total scam.

Really glad I stumbled upon this site and saw all these comments. This number has rung me twice too - yesterday I picked up and all I got was silence, and today I just let it go straight to voicemail.

Got a call from 02088888778, which is listed as a London number, supposedly from BT. It’s definitely from the UK and not ported over or anything. If you’re getting calls from this number and it feels dodgy, you should let BT know since that’s who the scammers are using. Also, it’s a good idea to inform TalkTalk and Action Fraud so they’re aware. If the calls are silent or people just hang up, make sure you report it to Ofcom. And if these ppl threaten you, definitely get the police involved.

I received a call from an Asian gentleman amidst a cacophony of background chatter, purporting to be from Talktalk. He inquired if I was experiencing sluggish internet connectivity, asking if I had noticed any issues. Sensing the telltale signs of a scam, I decided to humour him for a bit. He probed whether I had a PC or laptop, to which I cleverly fibbed and mentioned I only possessed a tablet. This threw him slightly off balance, prompting him to persistently ask about a desktop. I eventually relented, admitting I had a laptop, albeit it was unavailable at that moment. He then wanted to know when would be a good time to ring me back. I replied I wasn’t quite sure but invited him to share his intended actions for the follow-up call. At this point, he seemed to lose interest and promptly hung up.

Got calls from this number three times within a few hours. No voicemail left, just a quick 'hello' with some noisy background that sounds like a busy call centre. After reading other reviews, seems dodgy, probably best to just ignore it.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying his name was Ben and that he worked for TalkTalk. He was going on about some issue with my router and was telling me to switch my computer on - which of course was already on! I calmly told him my router was working fine, asked him not to call back, and ended the call. This number has rung me a few times before, definitely a dodgy scam and could catch out anyone who’s not careful.

Got a ring earlier today from someone who sounded Asian, claiming to be from TalkTalk or something like that. Totally convinced it was a scam, so I ended the call pretty quick. Honestly, it’s awful how these scammers try to trick people - feels bad for anyone who ends up falling for it.

Got a call from a bloke with a thick Asian accent, background was absolutely buzzing with noise. He never said who he was at first. When I asked where he was phoning from, he said London. Then out of nowhere he started saying some really inappropriate stuff, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from 02088888778 earlier but they just hung up without saying a word. Lately, I’ve had loads of calls like this and I reckon they’re trying to hack into personal PCs. It feels really dodgy and potentially dangerous for your computer’s security. Never share any details with these callers. If they’re legit, they should already have whatever info they need. For me, this all kicked off after that TalkTalk breach, and I’m seriously thinking of changing my broadband provider now.

Got a call yesterday and all I heard was some weird background noise on the voicemail, no words at all. Today it rang again but I didn't pick up. Used 1471 to see who it was, turns out it's the same number. Just pesky calls, best to block and forget about it!

Just like loads of others, I got a call from some guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from TalkTalk. After I kept asking what they actually wanted me to do, it became clear he was asking me to give him admin access to my computer. He said my internet connection was rubbish and was messing up my Windows system, and I could check it myself by going into the event viewer. I mean, seriously, if my Windows was having issues then why wouldn’t Microsoft get in touch with me? Felt totally sketchy to me!

Got a call from a bloke with a heavy Asian accent claiming he was David White from TalkTalk in London. His English was terrible and there was loads of noise in the background, like the call was bouncing around the universe or something! He said there was an issue with my internet. I asked for his direct number, but he refused and told me to ring the free helpline instead. He didn't expect me to want to verify him and got a bit annoyed asking why I needed it. When I said I was checking if he was a scammer, he just hung up. Total scam, that one.

Got a call early in the morning, around 8, from someone saying my TalkTalk was showing error messages and I needed to switch my computer on straight away. They kept saying it was urgent. I was almost certain it was a scam, so I just kept chatting to waste time and ended up hanging up after about 10 minutes. When I asked to speak to a manager or get an email, they just kept going over the same lines again and again.

Got a call from this number and all I could hear was this loud buzzing noise, sounded like some call centre chaos. I kept saying hello a few times but no one answered. Got a call supposedly from Talk Talk asking if we were having problems with our internet. They wanted me to switch on my laptop to show some big error. I wasn’t really interested, and when I hesitated, they started getting a little annoyed. Luckily, the other half suddenly recalled hearing about a scam like this not long ago.
