Phone number ☎️ 02088558868 👆 is reported as a suspicious call where the caller, claiming to be from TalkTalk, mentions internet speed issues and directs recipients to check their Windows event viewer. Despite using a convincing tone and accent resembling legitimate TalkTalk staff, no actual problems are detected by users. The caller’s quick speech and urging to check technical details raise concerns, especially as genuine errors in the event viewer are often non-critical. Some recipients suspect a scam due to the caller hanging up abruptly and similarities with previous fraudulent calls impersonating tech support. Users are advised to remain cautious and verify claims independently before taking any action.

2 yearsI got a call from someone saying they were from TalkTalk, mentioning there was a speed issue with my internet router. The guy spoke really quickly with an Asian accent, sounded like a genuine TalkTalk employee. But I hadn’t noticed any speed issues myself. He then asked me to open the Windows event viewer, which felt a bit off. I reckon it might’ve been a scam because when I struggled to hear him, he just cut the call, and I’ve had a similar dodgy call before, this time pretending to be from Microsoft, who also wanted me to check the event viewer. Seemed fishy to me.TalkTalkMicrosoft2 yearsI received a phone call purporting to be from TalkTalk, supposedly addressing some supposed issues with my internet speed that they were spotting on my router. However, I haven't experienced any problems with my internet at all. The caller directed me to the event viewer on my Windows 11 system, pointing out various warnings and errors. After doing my research post-call, it turns out these notifications aren't actually significant. I went ahead and conducted a speed test with TalkTalk, and everything came back fine. The voices were Asian and spoke at a rapid pace, which seemed to align with TalkTalk's customer service, but I've got a strong hunch that this was a scam.TalkTalkSubmit Your Own Report (020 8855 8868)
