I got a call from this number today and, like usual with these dodgy calls, I reported it to Action Fraud since loads of people on here say that’s the best place to go for these scams. After that, I put a warning up on this site to help others and blocked the number straight away.

Received a call purporting to be from BT, warning me about imminent disconnection of my internet service. The thing is, I don’t even have an account with them. It’s clearly a scam, but how do they keep pulling this off?

Had pretty much the same thing happen today. Got a call from someone who definitely sounded like a real person, but they never said their name or which company they were with. They just said something like “£600 has been charged to your credit card, press 1 to cancel”. I just hung up straight away. After seeing other comments like this, it’s clear it’s a scam.

Had a call today from someone who sounded real enough, defo not a robot. They didn’t say their name or which company they were from, just told me that £600 had been charged to my credit card and to press 1 if I wanted to stop it. Didn’t hang around, just ended the call. Seeing what others have said, this seems like a total scam to me.

I had a similar experience today. £600 was siphoned from my account by someone overseas. He claimed to be from the 'Visa Department', yet when I pressed him on which bank he represented, he couldn't provide a straight answer. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a robo call claiming £600 was sent from my MASTERCARD VISA to some overseas place. They told me to press 1 if I hadn’t done it. I hung up straight away. No way I have a MASTERCARD account, so it sounded like a total scam!

Got a call from a number claiming to be Mastercard, saying my card had been used overseas in the last 15 minutes. They told me to press 1 if it wasn’t me, which kinda made sense as I am a 2nd cardholder. I pressed 1, but the person sounded like they were calling from India, so I just hung up. Looking back, it’s obvious the bank wouldn’t handle things that way. I've now blocked the number.

I got two calls back to back, but when I answered there was nothing, just the guy breathing (it went straight to voicemal). I guess if he knew when to say something, it’d probably be from BT, HMRC, DVLA, Microsoft or Apple or something like that. Supposedly anyway. I’ve blocked the number but I’m sure they’ll just ring me from another one by tomorrow >:(

I answered the phone and said hello, but there was a bit of a pause before I heard a click. Then this Indian guy came on saying he was from BT Openlink. I'm pretty sure it was some kind of scam related to computers.

I picked up a call and enquired about "Mrs." from some ancient phone book listing. When i asked who wanted her, they got all hostile and wouldn't tell me where they were ringing from. They even warned me i'd be getting loads more calls if i wasn’t that person. i told them that's basically harassment, which isn't allowed. then they just called me a clown and slammed the phone down. best to just ignore and block these numbers if you can.

Just got one of those dodgy calls from 'Microsoft tech support' again. Used to work in IT, so I ended up pulling their leg for about 25 minutes, hopefully stopping them from pestering anyone else. Their trick is to get remote access to your laptop or PC, which is where it gets risky. At one point, I told them my computer was literally overheating and warned I’d take legal action.
