Got a call from some bloke about my washing machine cover being almost up (which is true). He offered to cut the price by a third, but insisted I give him my bank card details (yeah, right!). We actually pay via direct debit, so the card shouldn’t be needed. He mentioned he'd ring me again in the morning (curious). Still, he seemed to know quite a bit about me, which felt a bit off.

The caller didn’t give a name but kept saying my washing machine cover was about to run out. I asked him three times which machine he was talking about, and he replied something like, “Seems like you’re not interested in renewing, so I’m going to hang up now.” The thing is, I’ve never had any insurance on my washing machine. I’ve blocked the number and I’m about to report them.

I got a call, I think from something like ‘appliance direct’ or similar, but couldn’t quite make out the name. The guy sounded like he was new and just reading from a script. He claimed my breakdown cover was nearly up, which is totally wrong. When I asked him to take me off their calling list and where they got my number from, he got quite rude and then just ended the call on me. Pretty annoying experience.
