I received an unexpected call on my landline at precisely 14:59 on Monday, 14th December 2020. The background sounds suggested it was originating from a call centre. A woman, who spoke with a noticeable Indian accent, introduced herself as Alice and claimed to be from BT. She asserted there was an issue with my internet connection that was making it sluggish. Interestingly, I had received the very same call just the previous week. When I expressed my discontent, telling her she ought to feel a sense of shame for trying to deceive an elderly person instead of finding a legitimate job, she promptly terminated the call.
