02086388793 Summary (Read all comments)
Phone number ☎️ 02086388793 👆 is reported as a suspicious and potentially fraudulent number linked to unsolicited calls claiming to offer PPI refunds. Callers often provide convincing details, including partial address confirmation and official-sounding references, but the company named has been dissolved. The callers typically request creating an online wallet or installing remote access software, which is a common scam tactic to gain control of personal devices or finances. Users are advised to be highly cautious, avoid sharing personal information, and never follow instructions to install unfamiliar apps or software. Genuine PPI claims do not require such steps, and legitimate companies will not pressure you unexpectedly, especially regarding refunds for schemes that have long been closed.
Reports on phone number 02086388793
4 yearsI’ve just had a rather dodgy phone call from a chap purporting to represent a firm named Wilkinson PPI based in London. He kicked things off by requesting that I verify my address - he already had my postcode - so I flipped the script and asked him for the address he had. To my surprise, he got it right, so I played along while persistently inquiring about his identity and the nature of his business. He insisted that his company wouldn’t charge a penny for recovering my PPI, claiming I was due £1,750 under some 'Government initiative'. Honestly, I felt the alarm bells ringing since I’d already sorted my PPI claims directly with HSBC without the need for any middlemen! The gentleman introduced himself as Sam and provided this phone number and an extension, 137, alongside a customer reference number. I made a note of all this, but then he started explaining how I could reclaim my funds by 'creating a wallet' and he would guide me through the process. At that stage, I firmly told him that there was no chance I would be creating any online 'wallet' since I was certain my bank balance would vanish into thin air should I do so! Before I could say any more, he declared my claim cancelled and abruptly hung up. What a farce! A classic case of trying to outsmart the scammer, folks. Keep your wits about you with this one!WilkinsonLondonGovernmentHSBCSam4 yearsThis is undoubtedly a fraudulent scheme. A legitimate firm audited my details some time back! Receiving an unexpected call claiming I’m entitled to some free cash? I highly doubt that!4 yearsToday, I received a rather curious phone call from a gentleman calling himself Sam, representing Wilkinson. He claimed that I'm entitled to some sort of PPI refund, specifically stating an amount of £3,750. This whole scam is quite notorious, and honestly, if you haven't come across it yet, you must have been living in a cave somewhere.SamWilkinson4 yearsIt seems I've come across what’s claimed to be the customer service number for Wilkinson PPI Ltd. However, considering this business was dissolved back in September 2021, it raises a massive red flag for me-definitely feels like a scam. They were also keen on guiding me to download an application called AnyDesk Remote Desktop, which would supposedly allow them to access my phone while they allegedly assisted with the claim process. No chance, I say!Wilkinson PPI LtdSubmit Your Own Report (020 8638 8793)
