I got a call from someone saying they were with Expedia offering really cheap flights. I paid up but never received any real confirmation for my booking. Total rip-off.

Got loads of calls from 02032906290 claiming to be Carphone Warehouse with an offer for an iPhone 13 Pro deal. Was about to believe it, but decided to ring Carphone Warehouse using their official website number just to be sure. They told me that number isn’t linked to them and it’s probably a scam. Dodged a bullet there!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who said he was calling from Carphone Warehouse. Honestly, sounded fishy to me, so watch out, probably a scam.

Tried calling 020 8638 0742 but no one picked up, and when I tried to call back, all I got was three beeps. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a random call out of nowhere about mobile phones, didn’t ask for it at all. Quite annoying really.

Today I got a call from an Indian guy here in Australia, telling me that my internet was about to be cut off. I asked him a bunch of questions and for his phone number, which he ended up giving me - and it matched this number here. What a load of rubbish, total cheats!

Just like some others here, I got a call from a bloke with a strong accent who said his name was Alex Smith. When I told him I thought it was a scam, he got really upset and said I was being rude to him!

I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, but over the years I've gotten loads of calls from people with really thick Indian accents. They always say my computer has some kind of virus and tell me to check my event log - which just shows error messages, nothing scary. They try to freak you out by making it look confusing so that you download some program, letting them into your PC to ‘fix’ it. I have no clue when exactly they ask for money or sneak in their own dodgy software. I honestly just mess with them, keeping them chatting for like 30 minutes before finally admitting I was just messing about playing games the whole time. They often pretend to be from BT, Microsoft, Google or whatever ISP you use.

Just like others here, I got a call from a man with an Indian accent saying my computer had been trying to hack into the BT system over a few months. He told me to run some software to fix it, or else my internet would be disconnected for three months. When I asked where he was calling from - he said BT at first - he then gave me a London address! I asked for his phone number to ring him back and confirm everything, and he gave me 02086380742. I googled it straight away and found this site. Definitely seemed very suspicious!

Got a call from a bloke who said he was with BT’s tech team, sounded Indian. He wouldn't quit even when I grilled him. Said my phone line was gonna be cut off ‘cause of some dodgy files I’d supposedly downloaded messing with their system. Told him I wasn’t buying it and managed to grab his number to ring him later. Honestly, I think he’s daft but also a bit dodgy. 28/03/14

I got a call from a private number and some bloke with a really thick accent - maybe Indian - claimed he was about to cut off my internet because there were reports of hacking or something along those lines. Honestly, it was quite confusing what he was on about. When I questioned him and insisted he couldn’t just do that, he started getting pushy. I kept telling him he had no right to disconnect my service and asked for his name and where he was ringing from. He said his name was David Wilkins. I wasn’t convinced and pressed him again for proof and his location. He replied that it was a BT number and gave me 02086380742 to call. Still sceptical, I told him once again he had no authority over my internet. That’s when he turned really nasty, telling me to shut up and that he didn’t care. I told him off for being so rude and ended the call there.

I haven't the faintest idea who this might be.
