Got a call around half past nine in the morning on the 9th of April, 2019. The person on the line claimed to be from some sort of telephone line verification service. It seemed like I was speaking to someone from an Indian call centre. I have a hunch this was a cold call aimed at flogging something. When I requested their company details and UK registration, they abruptly hung up on me.

I got a call from someone who said she was Mrs Qureshi and asked for my name. I didn’t give it, instead asked who she was trying to reach. Then she asked if I was running some sort of catering business. I told her no, she must have got the wrong number. She wanted to know what my number was, and I told her it’s the one she just called. She read it back to me, then asked if I lived on Shaftesbury Street or Road. I said no, so she admitted she must have the wrong details. This was about 10:45 in the morning on 22nd December 2016.
