I received a call from someone who claimed they were affiliated with a finance company, saying I had expressed interest in pension plans a while back and wanted to check if I wished to remain on their database. I was a bit sceptical and mentioned I would consider it. Then he pressed me to update my personal information and said if I changed my mind, they could just archive my file. I told him my details hadn’t altered, but he was insistent on me confirming everything (seemed like he was fishing for info). The line didn’t disconnect properly, and I could hear a lot of chatter in the background, which led me to think they might be either a debt collection agency or involved in some sort of scam - not entirely sure which. About an hour later, I received another call from a chap claiming to be from Parcel Force, asking me to verify my address as they had attempted to deliver a package but my neighbours wouldn’t accept it. When I requested him to confirm the delivery address, he claimed he couldn't disclose it due to Data Protection laws. I asked which depot he was calling from, and he stumbled a bit before saying it was Mount Pleasant. Then he asked for my address yet again; I told him he should just go ahead and deliver it. When I suggested he tell me the address on the parcel for verification, his response was still that he couldn’t due to data protection. At that point, I decided to hang up, rang Mount Pleasant and Parcel Force directly, only to find that I had no parcels registered under my name.

We received a rather disconcerting phone call directed at my partner from a number that is strikingly the same, claiming to be from an organisation that purportedly overpaid our account. They enquired about our identity, to which I replied, Mrs. ???. However, to our astonishment, they responded by calling me by my maiden name, Miss ???, which I had only recently changed after tying the knot a few days prior. It left us rather perturbed, particularly given my previous status as an X-list individual. We found the situation decidedly peculiar! After attempting to return the call to no avail, we decided it was prudent to inform the authorities about the incident.

We recently received a call from the same number. We've checked with HMRC and discovered that it's a fraudulent number trying to extract information. Best to steer clear of this one!

My mother-in-law received an exact ring regarding my husband just last month, and now these individuals have contacted us again today! They claim to be associated with national insurance and are asking for further information. Whoever is behind this needs to cease these actions immediately, as it’s completely unlawful and breaches data protection regulations.

I had an odd encounter today with a phone call that bizarrely went to my neighbour's mobile instead of mine! The caller asked for her full name, which was a bit peculiar. They then proceeded to inquire whether my mum and I live next door. My neighbour was taken aback and mentioned she’d pop over after they requested our contact details. Seemed like the chap on the line was a bit flustered, stumbling over his words, and gave the impression of being from Parcel Force. He claimed he’d been trying to deliver a parcel for both my mum and me for the last ten days! I can only imagine the surprise they'll have if they actually show up here - they’ll have to contend with my two American Akitas, which should prove quite the challenge! Good luck to them! 😊

We've just received a call that mirrored the exact situation described above, with the caller seemingly possessive of a wealth of data spanning almost a decade. I made it clear that I don't share or confirm any details over the phone and took note of the number provided instead. However, unsurprisingly, there was no response when I tried to call back. I hope we were already clued in before engaging with him, but when she rings us again, we’ll be prepared. I’m left wondering what their objective might be. The number given to us was 0207 630 8637.

Last evening, we were visiting my grandfather's place when, out of the blue, she rang our mobile. She introduced herself as James Collins too but then started asking about us and a friend, wanting personal information. This whole thing has left me rather anxious, as it feels like there could be some serious breaches of data protection going on. I really doubt she'll reach out again, and we’ve tried returning her call with no luck. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or encountered any issues, particularly regarding identity theft, since that call.

My mother-in-law has just received a ring just like the one our husband has. She got a call last month, and now these individuals have reached out again today, claiming to be from some national insurance service and asking for personal information. Whoever is behind this needs to stop immediately, as it’s against the law and a clear violation of data protection regulations!
