This morning, at about 8.45 on Saturday, 6 March 2021, I got a call. When I picked up, a man was chatting in Gujarati with someone else in the background. I asked who was calling, and he said his name was Steve Anderson, claiming he was from Sky Broadband's technical support - totally untrue since I don't even have Sky. I quickly ended the call. I’m on the TPS list, but clearly it's not stopping these kinds of calls, as I keep getting similar ones nearly every day.

Got a call from an Asian number, I just ignored it and hung up. Then I went ahead and blocked it.

Honestly, they just keep at it! I get calls from them almost daily, sometimes really early or late in the day. I tried blocking the number but somehow they still manage to get through. Such a pain!

I've no clue who it was, but just like before, it was someone with a foreign accent ringing me up on a number that I don’t recognise at all! Given that I'm signed up to the Telephone Preference Service, why on earth am I still getting bothered like this?

they have been ringing us every single day this week asking questions. we’re registered with the tps and keep telling them to take us off their list, but they just ignore it and carry on calling. we reported them to ofcom, but after reading other posts, it seems like it doesn’t really do much. also, the same firm called from 01449 720709. best advice is just to hang up and don’t share any personal details or even your name.

Got a call on 25/10 at 1.31pm from someone asking about my late stepdad. This could have really upset my elderly mum. I can't figure out how they managed to find the number as she's ex-directory. I ended the call straight away but honestly, I just want them to quit ringing.

The phone rang just a few minutes before midday, and once again it was one of those silent calls that just hang up. I never answer these types of calls, so I set the answerphone to pick it up instead. If they don’t leave a message, then I figure there’s no good reason for them to be ringing me. But if they do drop some details, I’m happy to get back in touch and hear what they have to say - though I’m still very careful not to share any of my own info over the phone.

They rang me but said the wrong last name, so I just said no one by that name is here and ended the call. Didn’t stick around for them to try and ask more.

They've rang me five times already just today, every 10 minutes starting from 12.01. I told them I was busy with work and couldn't talk. Mentioned I was on the TPS list and asked them to stop calling, which they promised. When I asked to talk to a supervisor, they said it was possible, but as soon as I kept pushing for one, they cut the call. I've reported them to Ofcom and let them know. Pretty sure I'll be getting another call in about three minutes.

I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent, and when I didn’t want to chat, she started shouting stuff in what sounded like another language. Bit unpleasant, to be honest.

Bloody nuisance, these jokers keep blowing up my phone all day long, from early morning till late at night. I’ve thrown a block at loads of their numbers but they just switch it up and ring from another one. Honestly lost count how many times I’ve blocked them, yet they still manage to get through. No idea where they even got my number from, and just like others have said, the TPS is about as helpful as a chocolate teacup. When will the laws finally put an end to this constant harassment? It’s driving me mad!

I just got a call but they hung up right away 🤨 When I checked the number 02085756622 by dialing 1471, it came up as being from Greenford in London. I looked it up on Google and that's where it's from too.

Got a call a moment ago, they wanted to know if I was xx. I asked who it was, and before I could say anything else, they just ended the call. It’s so irritating, especially since only my elderly mum ever rings the landline and I always have to pick up. Proper cheeky to just hang up like that! Got a call from this number at 12:09 today, and after seeing what people say here, I've gone ahead and blocked it. Being ex-directory, I find it worrying that they can still get hold of landline numbers like mine. The TPS feels totally useless in situations like this. From what I’ve read in other comments, it looks like it’s some Benefits UK lot. They’ve rang me a couple of times before, but I usually just hang up. Really wish they’d quit calling!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian or Pakistani accent, he was asking if I’m the man of the house. I just replied with “hello?” over and over and eventually he just dropped the call. Total waste of time.

I just got a call from someone with an accent saying they were ringing from the hospital to say my husband had passed away. I found it odd and told them he was right here eating his breakfast. They actually used my husband's name before they suddenly hung up. Quite strange!

So I got a call from this Shaun claiming to be from Benefits ok. He knew my name and address, said it would only take 40 seconds, but I timed him and he went way longer. When I asked where he got my number from, he just dodged the question, so I ended the call. How on earth are they finding my number? I never share it anywhere. I thought there was a new law saying they can't call you if you haven't given your number? Seems like they're just ignoring it.

Got a call from a London number, probably some Cockney lot. Like loads of the time, they didn’t leave a message - no idea if it’s some dodgy scam or just a bunch of lazy fools who can't be bothered to say what they want. I don’t know anyone down in London, so whenever that number pops up, I just let it ring through to voicemail like I did this time. If it really mattered, they’d drop a message, but they hardly ever do. Pretty telling, if you ask me.

Then he said he only needed to ask three quick questions and promised he wouldn’t call again. He read out a house number and postcode, asking if it was my address. I said yes, though it was actually my old place. Next up, he asked if I was over 50. Then he wanted me to say if I was in my 20s, 30s, or 40s. I told him that was personal, so he just said goodbye and hung up.
