Got a call from a scammer, rang and then hung up without saying a word.

Extremely courteous individual! Had my name and complete address at hand. Posed straightforward, non-intrusive queries, such as my age and the brand of my washing machine- Inquired about my age bracket. Wondered if I had a Sky dish installed. He even mentioned I sounded much younger than I actually am-he truly scored top marks for that! I consider myself quite clued-up, and the caller was exceptionally well-mannered.

Got a call at 12:39 on 11th March but didn't pick up. This was just another random unwanted call among many, some of which I've blocked through TPS and others I've blocked myself. Seems like my mobile number is quite public now.

Got a call from this number at around 6:17pm tonight, 12/04/18. I picked up and said hello, some woman answered with a weird accent, not British, then just hung up straight away. When I rang back, it said 'number not recognised' or something like that. I get loads of 020 calls like this, always a load of rubbish and it’s really annoying.

Kept ringin saying "this will only take 5 mins" - caught me in a nice mood first time so I played along but the address they gave was wrong. When I refused to give my new one (apparently they 'needed it' for their survey) they just ended the call. They’ve called me like 4 times since then. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from some Indian/Asian survey scam, pretending to be from a London number. These spoofing calls really need to be banned. When you pick up, they pass your number to other scammers who try to trick you into giving out your bank info. Total sc@m artists, hardly any of these "surveys" are genuine.

I received a rather puzzling call from a woman who had a pronounced Asian accent. The line was dreadful, making it incredibly difficult to comprehend her words-I'd say I only managed to grasp about one in three. She had my address and quizzed me on whether I owned my home or if I was a renter. Despite my repeated requests for her to articulate more clearly, the reason for her call remained a mystery. I couldn't help but suspect it was something to do with market research. In the end, I told her it felt like we were both just wasting our time and ended the conversation. 09/03/2018

I had a call earlier and just let it ring out to voicemail. They hung up straight away. Just a heads up to others: 020 is London’s area code, so it’s not always a scam call! (But if you’re nowhere near London and don’t deal with anyone there, it’s probably best to be careful.)

They said it was for some marketing stuff and wanted me to confirm my address, but it was wrong. When I wouldn’t give my proper address, they kept pushing and said they had my right number anyway. I just told them not to call me again and didn’t give any more info. The whole thing felt a bit sketchy and the line was really noisy, hard to catch what they were saying.

after getting four calls in just twenty minutes, i ended up shouting "just leave me alone!" down the phone and they went all “ooooh alright then!” i’m sure they’ll be ringing me again tomorrow, no doubt about it.

They said it was a quick marketing survey, would just be a couple of minutes. Yeah, right! Then they tried to confirm my address, which they actually read out to me. I haven’t lived there in 7 years, so it seemed really sketchy. After that, they asked for my postcode to "update" my info, and I just said no.
