When I asked who was calling, the person on the other end just hung up. Guess they didn't think I deserved to know who was trying to reach me!

When I asked them to say who they were, the person on this number just ended the call. Guess they don’t want to talk to anyone who expects an introduction!

Someone said they were from HMRC and started threatening me with legal action.

Received a call purporting to be from HMRC, and they started throwing around threats of legal action. It honestly seemed like just another run-of-the-mill scam, likely from overseas.

Got a call from 02085 140892, with a bloke claiming to be from HMRC. He asked me for my birth date and mentioned my name, saying there was some issue about unpaid taxes. Then he told me to grab a pen and paper so I could write down the instructions. I didn’t buy it and just ended the call. Tried to call back but the number didn’t come up on my phone.

Got a call earlier claiming to be from the local police and told me to press one. Can’t believe these scumbags are allowed to scare folks like that. It’s just not right.

Got one of those auto calls again, like the one mentioned before. Ignored it and wiped the message straight away. Proper scammers, honestly. I never pick up if it’s a number beginning with 020. It’s definitely a con!

Got a call about some police matter. Rang my local police station just to check and they told me it’s all rubbish, no case at all. They said it’s just a pest call and to make sure you report it. Best thing is to just block, ignore and stay away from that number! Total scam.

Got one of those automated calls claiming to be the police - absolute rubbish! Didn’t fall for it and have blocked the number straight away!

I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying there was a problem with me and to press 1 to speak to someone about it. So I pressed 1, and a guy named Mark answered. He sounded quite polite and asked for my DOB and National Insurance number to check out the issue. Then he put me on hold and the call just dropped. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from a silent number, so I just blocked it straight away.

Got a recorded call claiming to be the police, saying I’ve got some case against me and to hit 1 to talk to an agent. I just ended the call straight away! Honestly, these scammy idiots need to find honest work instead of bothering everyone!

I’m proper sick of these phone calls now. Got two from this same number within an hour! Like everyone else, they keep saying it’s the police or something. Really wish there was a way to just block all these irritating calls for good.

I had a call like this too, claiming it was the police and there was some case pending against me. They told me to press 1 to talk to my case officer or manager. I just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from 02085140892 with a well spoken voice saying it was the police about some case against me. The message asked me to press 1 to talk to my case officer, which sounded a bit dodgy to me. I reckon it could be a scam, and pressing 1 might end up charging you a fortune on a premium rate line. If it was real, surely they would have sent me a letter in the post first. I didn’t even bother and just hung up straight away.

Just like everyone else is saying, this is a total scam about some supposed legal case with the police against me. Don’t even bother picking up or hitting any numbers. These scammers are really sketchy. Proper police don’t call you out of the blue like this - they either send a letter or show up in person. Best thing to do is ignore these calls completely, they’re nothing but trouble.

i got a voicemail claiming to be from the police telling me to press 1 to chat with my case officer. i didn’t pick up but tried calling back, and the number just wouldn’t connect. quite fishy if you ask me.

Just like the others mentioned, this is definitely a scam. The police wouldn’t get in touch like this. If they really needed to reach you, they’d either ring you directly, drop a note through your door with their contact info, or visit your address. If you’re ever suspicious about a call claiming to be from the police, call your local station using their official number to confirm. They can quickly check their records for you. Don’t fall for these tricks!

I just got a ring from this number and it really rattled me, especially since my lad has just left the country. Family's all you can think about in times like this. There’s some really twisted folks out there. Honestly, they should stop messing about and find a proper job instead of trying to con honest people. Absolute scoundrels, the lot of them.

Got a voicemail telling me about some police investigation - total rubbish if you ask me!

Honestly, it's baffling they have nothing better to occupy their time. If you’re not wrapped up with the police, don’t let your curiosity win - just end the call.

02085140892 - I got a call with a clear English voice claiming to be the police about some case against me. It told me to press 1 to get in touch with my case officer. Sounds dodgy tho, probably one of those scams where pressing 1 could land you on a costly premium line. If it was real, they'd have sent me an official letter first. I just ignored the call and ended it straight away.
