This number has been blowing up my phone loads over the past few days. Today, some robotic voice claimed they were from HMRC and said I had fraud charges and there was a warrant for my arrest. I just hung up straight away. I've reported it to HMRC already!

Got another one of those scam calls! This time they said I’d be charged £39.99 monthly for an Amazon subscription unless I hit 1 to talk to someone and cancel. Tried a bit of a different trick, but it’s clear rubbish since I don't even have an Amazon Prime account.

They said they were from Benefits UK and not trying to sell me anything. But before she could even bring up my postcode, I told her I wasn’t interested. Then she just started shouting “mam, mam” and hung up. I’ve had calls from these lot before. Proper annoying!

Got a call from this number earlier; at first it was just silent, but as I was about to hang up I caught a voice. I was actually waiting for another call, so I answered. The guy, sounding cheerful with an Indian accent, claimed to be from Benefits UK and wanted to ask some 'household questions' that'd only take a few minutes. I told him I was busy and didn’t want to do it, but he said he’d ring back tomorrow and kept trying to persuade me to chat now. To stop him going on, I just said goodbye and hung up. Seems like a sketchy data-collecting scam if you ask me.

When they called again, I allowed the individual to speak for a while before interrupting and curtly stating "your time is up" before abruptly ending the call. I told them I don’t give out personal info on the phone but they kept pushing so I ended the call. This isn’t the first time they’ve called, they switch numbers all the time. 01257555316 Seriously, invest in a phone with a call blocker feature. Make sure your network provider adds call display to your plan - it’s really handy. There's this caller announcement thing where the person has to say who they are before the phone even rings for you. Then you can choose to answer, block or send to voicemail. Scammers usually give up quick, and if not, just block their number. Since using this, I haven’t had a single scam call. You can also block a whole range of numbers from the same company which is great when they keep switching numbers.

Following the receipt of three consecutive calls from this particular number, I issued a clear warning to the caller. In no uncertain terms, I informed them that if they were to persist in their phone calls, I would employ the use of a whistle down the line with the intent to detrimentally affect their eardrums. Since then, a complete silence has engulfed my phone for a duration of two whole days. However, should these unwelcome calls resume, I am fully prepared to escalate the matter to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Insolence and ignorance are not sufficient grounds for such intrusive behaviour.
