Like a few others mentioned, this isnt a scam but a genuine charity. Lots of their volunteers have been jailed in Iran or have family locked up for political reasons, so they’re pretty determined. They do need quite a bit of cash to help save and relocate those in danger. They never ask for donations over the phone, and the only thing they do is keep calling to get their point across. Received a call from Liberty today regarding my husband in Iraq, which I’ve provided before. They rambled endlessly about the fantastic news of thousands being liberated. Then, they proposed a quick 15-minute chat about their fundraising efforts. They suggested to ring back on the 7th or 8th of February, but when I mentioned it was actually the 11th, they abruptly hung up. Quite strange, if you ask me!

Like a few others mentioned, this isn’t a scam. The calls come from a group known as Iran Liberty. I actually chatted with one of their volunteers on the street about 15 years back and since then, they haven’t stopped ringing me, even when I ignore or end the calls. They just refuse to accept a no for an answer.

If it’s the International Liberty Association, they’re not a scam - they’re a real human rights charity focusing mainly on Iran. They do ring me quite often on both my mobile and landline though. They don’t request any money or bank details over the phone, but if you show interest in their work, they might want to arrange a meeting and could be after quite large donations. It’s more annoying than dodgy really. They never leave voicemail, so I thought they must be scams for ages.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t a scam. From what I’ve found, it’s a charity named International Liberty Association that supports human rights efforts in Iran and the Middle East. They seem to do important stuff and are just aiming to inform people.
