In the last week, we've had about ten calls on our home landline. My wife answers each time, only to get the usual rubbish others have mentioned. It's something about BT internet, which we don’t even use with them. Proper annoyance!

Caller said, "This is BT technical support regarding your internet. We've detected attempts to hack your connection, which could cause serious issues." I replied, "Sounds like the troublemakers might be you lot." They insisted, "Ma'am, we’re definitely from BT!" I just said, "I highly doubt that." There was some grumbling and then the call ended abruptly. I'm thinking of having a whistle next to the phone for these cheeky calls. Anyway, I’ve blocked the number now.

This number rang me a couple of times today but I didn't pick up, so I’m not sure what it was about. My answerphone didn’t record any message either.

So this caller rings up, says they’re from the BT Technical team and warns me someone’s trying to hack into my internet and cause trouble. I just told them, “Sounds like the troublemakers are probably you lot then.” They kept insisting they were from BT, but I wasn’t having any of it. After a bit of grumbling from them, the call just dropped. I think next time I’ll keep a whistle handy for these types of calls. Anyway, I’ve gone ahead and blocked their number.

Twice already this morning, I got calls from someone saying they're with BT wanting to chat about my internet. I told them I don't have BT, I use cable instead. The bloke then started arguing with me! I just hung up.
