Like many have mentioned before, this was related to electrical goods. It seems I signed up for this two years back, and now, as we enter the third year, they've come knocking for payment. When I inquired about what exactly was included (you guessed it - electrical items), I pointed out that I already have contents insurance to cover those. His response? I still have to cough up the cash for it. I requested a policy or agreement number, and he casually mentioned he would send it through the post. To me, this absolutely stinks of a scam.

Received a call from someone claiming that my appliance insurance was about to lapse and required immediate renewal. When I requested he send the details in writing, he responded in a rather abrasive and confrontational manner. I'm starting to suspect this could be a scam, especially since we don't have any policies that are up for renewal.

Apparently, they were offering two years of cover for free, but then insisted that I fork out for the third year, or face some hefty penalties. When I asked for the signed contract, the chap on the other end dismissed my request, saying, "the paperwork was sent two years back." He refused to connect me with a manager, claiming he was busy in a meeting. Honestly, if we're keen on appliance cover, we're better off securing it at the point of purchase in the shop. This whole situation reeks of a scam if you ask me!
