Some polite bloke rang up looking for a Miss Rawlings or something like that. I said there wasn’t anyone by that name here. He didn’t bother asking who I was, just said sorry and hung up.

I’ve been getting loads of calls on my mobile from 02078601134. They keep saying I owe money to the Inland Revenue and if I don't get in touch with them, I’ll be taken to court. It’s really annoying!

I got a phone call from a very polite lady who said she was from Coverplan, a call centre. She told me my washing machine breakdown cover ended on 1 November. She actually knew my name and where I live. But when I told her the machine’s still under the ten year manufacturer warranty with 6 years left, she hung up straight away.

A woman called me about my washing machine warranty, telling me it was due on the ‘th. I told her I normally get a letter about it in the post, but she insisted she was calling to offer me a price. When I said again that I usually receive something by post, she just ended the call. I really don’t understand how folks like that can live with themselves, knowing they’re trying to con people like that.
