Got a call from some bloke claiming he was from Computer Watch or something related to Windows - typical Indian scam stuff. If you're curious about how these lot work, just google ‘msconfig spam’ and you’ll see the pattern. I kept the call going for a bit just to see what tricks they’d try, but the moment he figured I knew a bit about computers, he started getting rude and then just hung up. These scammers really need to be stopped!

Got a call on my phone from a bloke claiming to be from something called "The Technical Help Desk". He asked for me by name and said he needed to chat with whoever owns the computer hooked up to the internet. I told him I didn’t have any computer at all, but he was convinced I did - said it was a laptop running Windows. I told him once more I don’t own any computer like that, and then he just ended the call. Definitely a scam. The number was 0208 287 7040.

dont pick up calls like this, they might try to get into your computer. i got a call from a guy claiming to be from "windows tech support" saying they needed to check my PC for some security issues. lucky for me, as soon as i mentioned im on the do not call list, they just ended the call. they even had my full name ready which freaked me out a bit.
