Turns out this really gets results! They sent the refund through a text, and the refugee family was able to collect the cash from their nearest Post Office. When I asked nicely but straight to the point with the details, they responded fast and handled it properly.

I got asked to pay £29 by this company, and it was only after they billed me that I found out what it was for. It’s really troubling since it seems aimed at vulnerable groups like refugee families and elderly people here in the UK. They even sent a random premium text from 65013 without me asking for anything. Honestly, it feels like a sneaky way to rob people. Totally disgraceful.

Total rip off, got messages connected to New Level Ventures, Ngage, and some dodgy sites like canibewinner and salesalerts.com. They also drop names like FirstChoice but it’s all fake, none of it is properly linked. Ended up losing £5 and wasted ages arguing to stop some subscription I never even agreed to. Absolute rubbish these scammers, really deserve a good slap.

Had a look at my bank statement and noticed a £4.17 fee for a premium text from 65013, seems like the same message others are talking about. I've sent an email to [email protected] asking for clarification and now just waiting to hear back. Tried getting o2 to block the texts but they said they can only block premium calls, not the texts themselves. Bit frustrating!

i told them i got billed for some contest i never joined and saw loads of others had the same problem so i wanted it fixed asap. they rang me back and said they'd removed me from their list and to expect a code from the post office on my phone to claim my refund, which i got lucky! also, ring your phone company and ask to block premium rate texts so this sort of thing doesnt happen again!

Hey, I got charged for some competition I never signed up for and got suspicious, so I started digging into it. I ended up emailing a couple of contacts I found online and had some luck with this one: [email protected] I explained that I was wrongly charged and mentioned that loads of others seemed to have fallen for the same scam, and asked for it to be fixed. They called me back saying they’d removed my number from their system, and shortly after, I got a code via text from the post office which helped me claim my money back. Result! I’d also recommend ringing your phone company and asking them to block premium rate texts, so you don’t get caught out like this again!

On 21st October 2016 I received a text out of nowhere, had no clue what it was about. Seemed like one of those dodgy "you’ve won a prize" scams. I replied with a quick “STOP” and then, shocker, they charged me £10! What a rip off. I tried calling the number they had, 0208 243 8562, which was from EE, but the line just wouldn’t connect. Apparently, the company behind it is called New Level Venture or something like that. Proper scammy lot.

I got a text from this number and ended up deleting it, but my phone bill still showed a £5 charge. After contacting my provider, they gave me a refund and told me to text 'stop' to 65013 to avoid any charges. Luckily, that text didn’t cost me a penny.

So I noticed a £5.00 charge on my bill from these folks. I rang up my phone company and they told me to get in touch with canibeawinner myself. I've reached out to them now and just waiting to hear back.

My 12 year old daughter got ripped off of £5 credit by these cheeky scammers. She got a message saying she was in a draw to win a Range Rover. We immediately blocked the sender and deleted the text, but somehow the money was still taken. Thankfully EE eventually refunded her the credit.

I just noticed a £5 charge on my iD Mobile bill and I have no idea how they got my information or why a third party is taking money from my account. Tried calling iD Mobile customer service but they weren’t able to tell me who this company is or help me cancel the subscription. The number they’ve charged me for is 02082438562. Anyone else had this happen?

Just got tricked the exact same way, contacted EE and they basically said tough luck, no refund coming my way!!!

I've found myself in the same predicament. I rang EE and demanded a refund, arguing that their call protection should be an 'opt-out' system rather than the 'opt-in' they claim to offer now. EE's excuse was that some folks actually want to get these calls, so blocking them outright would annoy those customers. I was really upset about being charged £4.17 plus VAT (£5) right under their nose, especially since they know this problem exists. I told them firmly that it's their job to fix this issue at its root, not mine to keep hunting for solutions. EE said they’ll credit my account on the next bill, and meanwhile I'll try to get a refund from the scammers who first made the calls. This whole mess has made me seriously reconsider my 15 years with EE when my contract runs out in January 2017.

Absolute scammers. Out of the blue, I received a text about winning a Range Rover, which cost me £5 even though I never signed up for anything like that. I contacted their support at [email protected] asking for how they got my info, who gave the go-ahead for this, and wanted proof of my consent. I also insisted on a full refund and for them to delete my number from their list. To my surprise, they replied the next day and sent the money back.

Beware of a site called canibethewinner.com, it’s a total rip off. I had £5 taken from my account and I’m not even sure how it happened. I keep getting calls from this number. Even if I don’t pick up, I noticed £8.33 has been taken off my bill. The caller ID shows some firm called canibethewinner - sounds like one of those casino spam places. I don’t gamble and I’m usually pretty careful about scams. I was calling to book a doctors appointment and suddenly noticed £5 missing from my credit. Turns out this number signed me up for some competition to win a car without asking! It’s blatant theft if you ask me. How come nothing’s being done to stop this? Feels like the NHS might be in on it somehow? - peter 07435 353874
