Got a call from a guy who said he was from BT, said there was a problem with my router. I asked him three times to prove he was really from BT and he kept insisting he was. The caller had a Chinese accent and claimed to be from East Northamptonshire Council, Road and TARFIC dept (yes, he actually spelled it like that!!!) saying it was about an accident I was involved in. When I asked his location, he said Thrapston and gave me a local phone number, but the number on my phone display was 020 8235 2355. He said his name was Peter Pinchpin. The number he gave me doesn't seem to exist.
