Been getting constant calls from someone claiming I've money waiting from a PPI claim tied to a loan. He was asking which bank it was with. I told him I don’t share any bank details over the phone and if I was due money, they should just send the cheque. He said he needed to confirm he had the right person, so I ended the call. Not 2 minutes later, he rings again. I was straight up and told him I wasn’t interested.

The bloke said he was Mike from Cornwall County Council and mentioned something about an accident I supposedly had. Told him there’s no accident or claim from my side and he just ended the call. Every comment here rings a bell for me. It feels like the entire UK is drowning in these annoying calls and nobody seems bothered to sort it out. Someone with a weird foreign accent called me earlier today, but their voice was all muffled like they were underwater or something. I told them I couldn’t catch what they were saying and suggested they fix their connection, then I just hung up. These calls keep coming around the same time every day now, which is more annoying than anything useful. Had a couple of calls earlier. The first claimed to be from some consumer organisation but didn't bother telling me which one. The second caller said they're representing some big charities nationwide. Each time I told them to take me off their calling lists. Next time, I'll try my usual trick - pretend someone's at the door and just leave the phone by the TV. They can’t just hang up then, so I ended up kept them on the line for nearly an hour, racking up call charges. Seems more effective than simply ending the call straight away.

Today at about 4.50 pm, I got a call from a bloke with an accent that sounded Indian. He kept saying I owed money on some PPI linked to a Lloyds TSB personal loan from 2003 to 2006. He told me to jot down that I borrowed £4000 and was mis-sold PPI, which I never even used or claimed. Then he said he’d put me through to his finance team and urged me to stay positive and repeat exactly what he’d told me. Strangely, he already knew my full name and address. I ended the call, but not long after, I got another call from 01618501136, which is one of the numbers I blocked ages ago.

Got a call from some place in India, sounded like a typical call centre trying to sell something. Quite annoying but at least they were polite enough.

They kept asking about some ‘loan’ I supposedly took out, but when I asked which company it was with, they had no idea!
