Definitely a scam call.

Beware of fraudulent phone calls! I have encountered an individual, posing as an O2 representative, who seems to be operating from India. These calls continue to plague me, including from various numbers starting with 020. However, when I decided to exercise my rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by requesting my personal information, they hastily disconnected the call.

Said they were with O2 and wanted to give me a discount. Kept saying they were with O2 when I asked for proof. Refused to say how much my bill actually was. Then just hung up on me. Well, that's another number straight to my blocked list.

Said they were from O2 and had a special discount, kept pushing for my email, definitely a scam.

Got loads of calls from this number saying they’re from O2 about the Virgin Media and O2 merge stuff. They said they’re sending me a new SIM and asked for a password to setup the account. A guy with a strong accent was really pushy and quite rude, then he put me through to his “supervisor” who was just as bad. I’ll just ring O2 directly on their real number when I get a chance to sort out my accounts.

Annoying telephone call from a fraudulent individual attempting to scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2, claiming to send me a new sim. When she asked for my email, I told her she should already have it if she was legit, so no way I’d give it again. She kept pushing, so I spelled something not very nice to her. She didn’t like that one bit. I ended the call, but she rang me twice more in the next few minutes, so I blocked the number. They must think I’m daft. Watch out, loads of dodgy callers about!

If someone claiming to represent Virgin Media asks you to wait for their technical team, it's best not to comply. It's highly probable that it's a scam. Always trust your instincts when something doesn't sound right.

Got a call from somebody claiming to be O2, saying I could get a discount, but when I asked for any account info, they couldn’t provide anything. They said I’d keep my contract but pay less. I asked them to tell me my current bill and who it was with, then they hung up. I’m on the TPS list, so they shouldn’t be calling me at all - definitely not O2.

Someone said they were from O2, saying they were updating their system and would be blocking SIM cards but sending out replacements. They asked to verify some info. I told them they already have everything they need and I wasn’t sharing any details. They didn’t seem very happy about that.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the o2 and Virgin merger crew, saying they were switching all o2 users over to new SIMs. Pretty obviously a scam, just trying to grab your phone number and any info they can. Funny thing is, I’m not even an o2 customer and they had no clue.

They rang me earlier today saying they were from O2/Virgin, mentioning some kind of merger. I asked why I get way more scam calls on O2 than I ever did with Virgin. I received a phone call from a person claiming to be from Virgin. They said that I was eligible for a discount on my mobile phone. However, I informed them that I did not want to discuss the matter over the phone and requested them to send me a letter and an email instead. The individual reassured me that they would comply with my request, but insisted that we needed to talk on the phone to finalize the refund agreement. I explained to them that I was expecting an important call, after which they promptly ended the conversation.

Judging by the comments, this is just another scam call pretending to be O2/Virgin because of their merger. They actually combined almost a year ago. It’s odd that the caller was talking about the merger like it’s happening now, a genuine rep would surely be aware it’s already done. Stay cautious.

Got a call from a woman with a strong accent saying she was with ‘VirginO2’. Since I’ve been phoned by these fraudsters before, I joked if they were doing any discounts again. I just got a call from this number +44 20 8194 4914, and the bloke said he’s with O2, trying to pitch a 50% discount for switching to their 5G service!! It’s definitely a scam, and O2 UK really needs to crack down on these call centres, probably based in India, that keep phoning genuine O2 customers trying to trick them!!! I’ve blocked this number straight away, but in the last 3 months alone I’ve had over 150 calls from these so-called O2 network scammers, which is absurd. Even TPS can’t seem to help since my phone number’s already registered for nuisance calls!!

I recently received a phone call from this particular number. The person on the other end claimed to be from their "technical team" and said they needed my information in order to send me a new O2 sim card, despite the fact that I never requested one.
Sensing something was amiss, I asked the caller to hang up and call me back later so that I could independently verify the authenticity of the number.
However, it is important to note that this number does not belong to either O2 or Virgin Media.
Therefore, I advise caution and vigilance in dealing with calls from this number.

This is clearly a fraudulent scheme. I requested the individuals involved to send me an email detailing their proposal, and they refused unless I confirmed my email address. Just got this scam call sayin my SIM was blocked, they said they’d send me a new one but wanted my info and address. Turns out they use that to buy a new SIM in your name, register it, then use your phone number themselves. That way they can get all your texts, including those 2-factor codes from your bank and empty your accounts. Watch out for this! Don’t even say which network you’re with. They don’t actually have that info and can’t really find out. Best to keep quiet about it.

I received a rather peculiar call from a gentleman who referred to me as "Madam" while claiming he could slash my O2 monthly bill by 30%. His accent was quite thick, making it rather challenging to catch everything he was saying. He assured me that they wouldn't require any of my personal details at that moment, yet he began rambling on about making some adjustments to my account-much of which was lost on me due to both the speed of his speech and his formidable accent. At that point, I had to politely decline, reiterating that my monthly charges were already minimal, and a 30% reduction wouldn't really pique my interest. As I was hanging up, I caught him still trying to convince me, saying "But Madam…" It’s quite astonishing that I even indulged him in the first place; I suppose the fact that he mentioned I was an O2 customer lured me into a conversation. However, it quickly dawned on me with a loud warning bell in my head- "Scam, Scam, Scam!"- and I’m grateful I recognised it in time. I’m relieved to have stumbled upon this site and noticed that these fraudulent calls began on 22nd January. A word of caution to others: be wary of receiving calls from 0208 1944 914. I was offered a 30% discount on my O2 bill due to some sort of company merger. When I mentioned that I didn’t quite understand the situation, the person on the other end seemed to lose their patience and abruptly ended the call.

It felt as though I’d stepped right into an episode of Scam Interceptors! The caller had a South Asian accent, clearly from a call centre, and was insistent on accessing my computer. They even left a rather long and convoluted voicemail, over four minutes, in which I could hear this character making their other calls. Honestly, it makes me wonder-where's Nick Stapleton when you really need him?

I received a call from an unidentified number, but chose not to answer. They didn’t bother leaving a message either. I’ve now decided to block the number altogether.

020 8194 4914 The number 208194 is managed by Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd. I've marked it as a SCAM and flagged it for SPAM. If you receive any dodgy messages from this number, don't hesitate to forward them to 7726. (If you're unfamiliar, a quick Google search will provide more info!)

I’ve encountered a situation much like those others have described. A woman with a thick accent rang me up, referring to me as “mum” and merely inquiring if I was the account holder for O2. Strange that she didn’t use my name or follow up with any proper security checks, which raised a red flag for me. She mentioned something about O2 merging with Virgin for a Volt deal that could help me save 30%, although I’m already on that deal. She then attempted to pass me over to her manager. Honestly, which company operates like that? I decided to cut the conversation short and hung up. Subsequently, I was inundated with calls throughout the day until I finally had to block the number.

Sounds like a dodgy call pretending to be from O2. Definitely a scam!

Got a call about some big discount on O2 bills. I told the bloke I only use O2 on my work phone since I'm a police officer, not my personal one. As soon as I mentioned that, he just cut me off straight away.

A total con, they were trying to get my bank info.

They said they were from O2, but they definitely weren’t. Total scam.

Beware of a scam where individuals falsely claim to be representatives of Virgin Media. The phone number they used to contact you is in no way associated with any Virgin Media accounts. Stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to their deceitful tactics.

I just ignored the call and let it go to voicemail. My phone flagged it as a POSSIBLE SCAM. No voicemail or follow-up numbers were left. Number showed up as UNKNOWN. Be careful - this one looks dodgy!

I let the phone keep ringing since I didn’t know the number, and in the end, no message was left. From what I’ve seen in reviews here and other places, it looks like this might be an O2 scam. A few people mentioned they offer a supposed 30% discount on your bill to lure you in. Others say they’ll try to get your email info to verify who you are, which sounds a bit shady.

This person rang me asking for my email to confirm my identity. I turned it around and told them to prove who they were by giving me my name and address, saying they had it right there. They insisted they'd share it only once I'd handed over my email. I told them since they were the one calling me, it was their job to verify themselves first. Definitely a scammer, and they got pretty annoyed when I called them out on it.

I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from O2. I let her know she wasn’t actually with O2, and she just ended the call right after.

**02 SCAM ALERT** - Just blocked them! Got a call from someone saying they were with 02. When I told him, "Mate, I’m not with 02, you’ve got the wrong person," he quickly switched to saying he was from Virgin Media. I told him to stop wasting my time because he was obviously trying to scam me, and he hung up sharpish. Heavy Indian accent, definitely dodgy.

**02 SCAM** - BLOCKED! Got a call from someone saying they were with 02. I told them, "No chance, mate. I’m not with 02, you’ve got the wrong person." Then they tried to switch to Virgin Media, but I called them out right away for being a scammer. Not surprising, they ended the call straight away. The bloke had a heavy Indian accent and was pretty hard to follow.

How can I file a report for this? I successfully avoided answering it since I do not have any involvement with o2.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2, asking for my email so they could give me a 30% discount. Seemed a bit fishy to me.
