Got a call from this Asian bloke claiming he was from Carphone Warehouse. Said they had some deal on. I told him even if it was completely free, I wasn’t interested. Then out of nowhere he blurts out, "Just listen for a minute, you mother******." I ended the call right away. Total scam, no doubt about it.

They said they were from Carphone Warehouse, and stupidly I played along at first but got suspicious after looking up the number. They asked for my name, and if it was really Carphone Warehouse, they’d already have that info! They tried to sell me a Galaxy S22 for £30 a month, supposedly with my current provider (which they had no clue about). I’ve blocked the number now but these lot keep calling from all sorts of different numbers.

They say they're from O2 trying to help save you some cash, then send you a code and ask for it, even though the message clearly says not to share it with anyone, not even O2 employees. Don’t hand over the code! Just hang up and call 202 to report the scam to O2. It's definitely not legit.

Got a call from some so-called phone provider, claiming they could hook me up with a better deal. Asked them how they'd even know what I’m paying at the moment. Felt like a complete scam. Then they tried saying they could get me the newest phone, so I asked how they knew what phone I already had. I got a call from a bloke claiming there's a problem with my sim card. I asked what provider he was with, and he said it was Three. I told him I don't use Three, so he asked what network I do use. I told him since he's calling me, he should already know. He then dropped an F bomb and spoke some foreign words before hanging up.

Back in 2020 I almost got caught out by a scammer who was trying to empty my bank account, but luckily I rang some mates and stopped myself from sending any money. Since then I always wait for the caller to say something, and if it's just dead silence, they hang up straight away - that’s usually a scam. A genuine person will properly say hello and wait for you to answer. These scammers know folks are struggling with bills like electricity, so they try to take advantage of that. I’ve blocked their number, cheers for this report and everyone else’s warnings.
