This number has been relentless! I've received a staggering six calls in just one day. I picked up on two occasions, but both times they hung up instantly. In the end, I opted to block the number, yet lo and behold, they’ve still been attempting to reach me day after day for the last couple of months. My call history is just full of their futile attempts, and my voicemail gives me a constant reminder, stating they’ve called but left no message. I got a call from this number and then about an hour later, a guy showed up at my door wearing a hi-vis jacket that said Gas and Electric on the back. He claimed he was here to switch my smart meter to a cheaper tariff but said I'd have to set up a direct debit and give him my bank info. When I said no, he just left straight away. Just a warning to everyone out there.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise so I just let it ring off, my lad got caught up in an online scam through Google Hangouts and ended up losing nearly £3,000! Google couldn’t care less about it so the police are handling it now. The number’s actually from WhatsApp and seems to be based in Bahrain, so watch out for that.

Dodgy callers pretending to be from corona virus support. They use this thing called V.I.P.E., some kind of computer phone system that's a nightmare to block cause it’s got loads of different numbers. Best bet is to report it to trading standards, they usually work with the police on cyber fraud cases.

Got a couple of calls after my mum sent a WhatsApp link about the poppy appeal on Facebook? Just so you know, I don’t even use Facebook. Someone said they were from Bulb and tried to get me to switch both my gas and electric suppliers. I explained I only wanted to change gas because there’s no gas in our village anyway. They kept pushing me to switch electric too. Eventually, I told them my energy came from Jesus and it was free! Thought that’d put an end to it, but nope, they called me again - just pure harassment.

i dont pick up phone calls if i dont recognise the number. i always look it up here and then call back if its something important like my car insurance or my mechanic. but if its a sales call (which sounds likely from what everyone’s saying) i just block it. ive had these numbers ring me early in the morning before. its so annoying and feels like harrassment!
