Someone phoned up asking for the person who lives here by name. When I asked what it was regarding, they said they worked for an agency that blocks incoming calls to the UK and that they were ringing to renew a policy from 4 years ago. That made no sense to me since we never took out any policy like that, plus the phone line is registered under a different name. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.
