The caller claimed to be offering an extended warranty for my fridge-freezer. Naturally, I expressed my delight, saying I’d been anticipating such a call for nearly 35 years. This seemed to prompt him to backtrack, insisting I wasn’t truly interested. A few choice words flew back and forth before he cut the line. It’s not the first time I’ve encountered this lot. On a previous occasion, I humoured them and managed to get through to a second stage where an employee asked for my bank details. I firmly declined to provide that information and pressed him for the name of his company and where he was calling from. Of course, he refused to comply. When I queried whether he was up to no good, he vehemently denied it. I challenged him further, stating if he had nothing to hide, he should be able to give me some basic details, but we just ended up going in circles, achieving nothing. In the end, he threatened to involve the police, to which I replied that since he already possessed my name and address, he was welcome to do so. After some back-and-forth, I decided to hang up, only for him to ring me back, still adamant he was innocent, yet without offering any concrete information or proof about the company he represented. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT SHARE YOUR BANK DETAILS WITH THEM, AS IT WILL ONLY RESULT IN UNNECESSARY HEARTACHE.

Oddly enough, our freezer is well over 15 years old, but we don’t own a fridge freezer. After that, they hung up. Just to mention, we’re located in the LD2 region of Wales. Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise but no message was left.

I got a call from 020281547938 and it was dead silent for about 5 seconds, then suddenly I heard this weird noise like the sound of a fax machine or dial-up. Seems dodgy to me, probably a scam as others mentioned.

Got a call with no sound, figured it was pointless so I’ve just blocked the number now.

So I got a call saying my fridge freezer insurance was nearly expired. I asked them to be clearer on which fridge they meant. They just said "your fridge freezer". Well, thankfully it’s mine, otherwise I'd be pretty annoyed paying for someone else's! When I asked them what brand it was, the lady began to get a bit shouty. I had enough of the nonsense and told her nicely that I wasn't interested.

I let it ring till the voicemail picked up but didn’t bother to answer. Like many scam calls, they never left a message anyway. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I reckon this must be a dodgy call of some kind. The caller mentioned my name right off the bat, claiming he was from some home appliance place - though I could hardly catch what he said. He went on to say that the warranty on my fridge was nearing its end, which struck me as a bit odd since I only purchased it last summer.
