We get calls like this all the time, some days I find it kinda fun to mess with them a bit - then they get proper mad. I told them we spend £300 a month, they sounded excited at first, then quickly switched to £30 every three months. Maybe next time I’ll go all out and say £1000 a month. They’re such a hassle.

I keep getting calls from some company called Direct Energy Services, saying they’re from London but none of them sound English at all. They are shockingly rude. They kept trying to persuade me to switch for cheaper energy, and when I said no, they started calling me stupid. After I hung up, they phoned back three times in a row, then told me off in the worst way. I found it quite funny, chuckling down the phone, but that didn’t seem to put them off at all. They call almost every day, sometimes twice or more. I block their number every time, but somehow they always ring from a different one. Honestly, I wish there was a way to get them to leave me alone!

What a bunch of absolute nincompoops! They're masquerading as if they're calling from a London number but with one digit chopped off. They've donned all sorts of disguises - from the UK Energy Council to E.ON, and even a tech company claiming there’s an issue with your computer! I’ve got a hunch their shady operations might be based in India or Pakistan, especially since some of the calls show up as international. Clearly, they’re up to no good. Best to give them a proper telling-off and hang up immediately. Don’t entertain these con artists for a second!

These muppets rang me today pretending to be from the UK Energy Council, saying the National Grid had made complaints. I asked to speak to a manager, but they were just as clueless as the first person. Their English was awful, they were really rude and kept dodging my questions. The only thing I got out of them was that they were calling from London, but no other useful details to help warn anyone else. Honestly, I’m worried these muppets might be trying to scam folks.

So, I got a ring from a lady with an Asian accent claiming she was from Direct Energy Board. She mentioned there was some issue about my business electricity bill being too high. She asked me how much I’m paying. I told her I don’t share business details with random callers. She insisted it wasn’t private info and kept pressing. I said no again, and she told me to buzz off, throwing in some swearing as a cherry on top.

Got a call from a loud Asian bloke saying he was from some gov department named Direct Energy Board or something. He reckoned the National Grid Station had questions about my business and how much electricity I’m using. He said my new smart meter is overcharging by nearly 30% per unit, all because I live too far off the transmission station. Apparently, I’m using about 19,000 units but getting billed for 23,000 due to my location. Felt a bit fishy to me.

He claimed to be calling from E.O.N, telling me i'd overpaid £65 and was due a refund. I asked him straight if he was really with E.O.N and he confirmed he was. He then asked for my business name and address, and said he needed a meter reading to process the refund. I said i'd submit the reading online and ended the call, as i felt it was dodgy. Plus, his english was really poor.

They rang my dad who’s disabled at our house, and she was really abrupt right from the start, asking to talk to the business owner. Dad got annoyed and was rude back then hung up, but she called again. I picked up and when I told her we aren’t a business and I’d report her, she got even more rude. I might’ve said some harsh words, which I shouldn’t have, but then she kept ringing back four more times!

Got a call from an Asian bloke asking for the salon owner, I told him they weren’t here. Then he suddenly said he wanted to speak with ME and started saying some really rude stuff like wanting to f*ck me. I was shocked to say the least. He repeated it a couple more times until my mate grabbed the phone and told him off with some choice words and told him to piss off. The idiot rang back about 4 or 5 more times, so we ended up unplugging the phone line.

Says he's calling from OFGEM about my 'N-Power Complaint Document' (which I've never had anything to do with nor filed any complaint). Turns nasty and shouts really quick. Told my partner he’d f#ck his sister, f#ck him up the arse, then his mum and dad. When I said his parents are dead, he suddenly got sorry but then started all over again with the abuse. No matter how many times I've told him to stop bothering me, he carries on using withheld numbers. This really needs sorting.

He then snapped back with "what the f### do I." I didn’t let him continue and said he was clearly not from the UK because folks here wouldn’t get so angry or swear so fast. Then I hung up. I run a Thai eatery here in the UK, and for the last year and a half, we keep getting calls from people saying we're paying way too much for our gas and electricity. Sometimes it’s a guy with an Indian or Asian accent, other times it’s a woman. Normally, my team just ends the call and carries on, but occasionally, as soon as we hang up, the caller will ring back right away asking why we cut them off. Just recently, we got another call from an Asian woman about the same energy thing, and when I asked her for the company name and a number to call back, she got all defensive and ended up swearing at me, calling me stupid. Such a pain!

So, this lot call themselves Energy Direct, and from what I’ve gathered, they’re a Canadian outfit trying to sell UK energy deals. I thought I had everything sorted for my business with them, but then they went and changed their mind about who’d supply me. After I told them to shove off, Ali keeps ringing - bloke reckons he speaks English but clearly can’t take no for an answer, swearing all the time. He’s been pestering me nearly daily for a couple of months now. The whole mess has actually cost me cash ‘cause I ended up stuck on a standard tariff before I even got a fixed deal through them. Honestly, steer clear of Energy Direct / Direct Energy.

On the 27th of April in 2016, precisely at 11:33 in the morning, I received a phone call from this number. The voice on the other end cheerfully greeted me with a "Good Morning, Madam." Curious as to whether they were marketing gas and electricity or perhaps reporting some fictitious issue with my computer’s windows, I quipped back. Much to my surprise, the response was an outright insult: "You are a b*tch." Assuming I'd misheard due to the unexpected rudeness, I politely replied, "Excuse me?" He reiterated his previous remark, "I said you are a b*tch." At that point, I decided it was best to end the call.
